Tha Pae Gate, the most iconic historical landmark in Chiang Mai, was built in 1296 as the only well-preserved city gate of the ancient walls. By day, visitors feed pigeons and take photos in the square; by night, it transforms into a vibrant artisan market selling crafts and local snacks.
