The breakfast was outstanding: high-quality, diverse, and thoughtfully prepared, with no detail overlooked. Starting the day with a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean truly made it special. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Every time I visit Cape Town, I make sure to stay at The Westin Cape Town—it’s always a fantastic experience. The staff are warm and attentive, the rooms are spotless and beautifully designed, and the bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Staying at Ellerman House for the third time only deepened my admiration for this remarkable place. The bathroom was spacious and beautifully designed, with thoughtfully chosen toiletries. Every detail was considered—from the well-stocked minibar to the guest pantry, which offers fresh-baked treats and snacks 24/7. Breakfast on the veranda is pure joy, setting the tone for a perfect day. Cocktail hour is magical: expertly crafted drinks paired with exquisite canapés, an experience worth remembering. I found a little nook just outside the study—a sunny spot by a gentle fountain with cozy outdoor seating—where I’d love to spend hours. The gym offers jaw-dropping views, and though I didn’t visit the spa this time, I’m already looking forward to returning for another unforgettable massage. The on-site art gallery is world-class, showcasing a beautifully curated collection of South African contemporary art. The wine gallery is both an architectural gem and a tribute to local winemaking—absolutely must-see. During our stay, my partner had to leave unexpectedly due to a family emergency. The staff’s compassion and support were deeply touching—especially Marilie, whose empathy and kindness meant more than words can express. That level of humanity is what sets Ellerman apart. Dinner was as impeccable as always, paired with outstanding South African wines. Though I don’t recall the waiter’s name, he was charming and attentive. In an industry where genuine hospitality is rare, Ellerman House stands as a shining example of how it should be done. I work in a five-star hotel myself, and honestly, every property should take inspiration from this one. Can’t wait to come back.

The location in High Point is quiet yet convenient, just a 15-minute ride to V&A Waterfront for shopping and dining. Whether you want to stay in and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel or venture out, there’s something great around every corner. Honestly, the only downside? Having to leave after such a perfect stay.
