I know space is limited in Manhattan, so I don’t expect luxury suites or huge rooms—but given the prime location and overall quality, this place delivers excellent value. It’s not just a place to sleep; it’s part of the NYC vibe. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

This hotel is absolutely stunning—immaculate from top to bottom, and every staff member goes above and beyond with their warmth and professionalism. While the hotel doesn’t offer parking, there’s a great value lot just a two-minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2.5 days, which was incredibly reasonable. The room itself was a dream: exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and a bathroom that felt like a spa—with a massive tub and a powerful shower. Pro tip: if you’re sharing a room with someone you don’t want to see naked, be aware the shower partition isn’t a one-way mirror—you can actually see into it when someone’s showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so no issues there. Both the in-house restaurant and the ramen spot next door are fantastic—definitely worth trying. I didn’t make it to the rooftop bar this time, but since I’ll be back every time I visit NYC, it’s definitely on my list for next time. The room was extremely quiet, and temperature control was effortless. That said, as someone who’s highly sensitive to energy and atmosphere, I did notice some unusual things right from the moment I walked in. Nothing scary—I’m not prone to fear—but I experienced several undeniable phenomena: seeing movement down the hall in both my room and the public corridor, hearing voices speaking clearly nearby when I was alone in the shower, and even hearing the stairwell door open directly beside our room, only to find it empty when I checked. It wasn’t coming from another room—it felt immediate, personal. After returning home, my daughter looked up the building’s history, and let’s just say it shed light on everything. There’s a reason why the third floor (near what used to be a fire escape) felt particularly charged. It also explains why my first thought upon opening the front door was, “I’m surprised they get away with inward-opening doors—this violates fire code.” Anyway, if you’re curious, do your own research. But regardless of all that, this is an exceptional hotel at a fair price, located in a safe and beautiful part of Brooklyn. I’ll be back again without hesitation.

The location, cleanliness, and personal touch from the host really stand out. I’d definitely book here again on my next trip to NYC. Highly recommended!

The air conditioning provided barely worked during summer, so I had to install split-unit AC systems myself—spending around $20,000 upgrading the unit. When I moved out, I was shocked that no security deposit was returned, and the owner blocked me completely. I even regret not taking the AC units with me since hiring a contractor of her choice cost me $14,000 alone. This wasn’t just a bad stay—it was a deeply disappointing and unprofessional interaction. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone, especially given the lack of basic trust and accountability.
