Having stayed at several luxury hotels including Fairmont, Mandarin Oriental, and Swissotel The Stamford, I can confidently say all are impressive—but Swissotel The Stamford offers the best value. The views from the room are outstanding, with direct sightlines to Marina Bay Sands and its iconic fountain, especially magical during the nightly light show. What really stands out is the pricing—it’s significantly more affordable than the others without compromising on quality. Mandarin Oriental wins for interior design and exceptional service, plus it’s just a short walk to Marina Bay Sands, so the higher rate makes sense. Fairmont? It’s decent, but not much better than Swissotel in terms of experience, yet priced higher. Overall, if you want top-tier comfort, stunning views, and great value, Swissotel The Stamford delivers exactly that—without breaking the bank.

The hotel is a bit tucked away, requiring a short climb to reach, but that’s part of its charm—peaceful and quiet, far from the city buzz. Our kids absolutely loved the pool, spending nearly the entire morning splashing around in the hot tub and playing with the fountains. The sofa bed in the room made it feel instantly like a family suite—super comfortable and spacious. It was also the first time our child slept alone in a room, marking a small but meaningful step toward independence. We booked through a platform, and the rate was great for the quality. This was our third stay in Singapore, and Shangri-La stood out for its excellent Chinese-speaking service—many staff members were fluent in Mandarin, making communication easy and welcoming. Plus, it's just a short stroll from the stunning Singapore Botanic Gardens. Whether you're here for relaxation or exploring nature, this location hits all the right notes. Highly recommend!

It’s rare to find such a satisfying breakfast that caters to a Chinese palate so well. Location is excellent too—just a short walk or quick MRT ride to downtown attractions, perfect for both business and leisure travelers. I’d definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore.

There’s even a small convenience store on the ground floor for snacks and drinks—super handy. The festive decorations during Christmas added such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was outstanding—plenty of variety, fresh ingredients, and great quality. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay, always smiling and ready to help. It’s surprisingly quiet despite being just a short walk from Orchard Road, the heart of Singapore’s shopping district. The neighborhood strikes the perfect balance between urban excitement and peaceful retreat. Public bus stops are right outside, making transit easy and efficient—while the MRT station is a bit farther, taking the bus works just as well. Clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, this place offers excellent value for money. We were thoroughly impressed with the comfort and service, and we’ll definitely be back.
Novotel Singapore on Stevens
I was in Singapore for a two-month business trip and stayed at over 10 different hotels during that time, with a budget of around CNY 1200 per night. Among all the options, Novotel Singapore on Stevens and its neighboring Mercure stood out as the best value for money. The location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk to Orchard Road, and the hotel offers a free shuttle bus every hour, making commutes super convenient. Even if you skip the shuttle, there’s a bus stop right outside the front door, so getting around town is effortless. The area itself is a quiet, upscale neighborhood—peaceful and safe, perfect for working travelers who want a bit of calm after a long day. Both hotels share facilities, and one of my favorite things is their two swimming pools: a 25-meter standard pool ideal for laps, and a smaller, kid-friendly pool that’s clean and well-maintained. Breakfast is another highlight—each hotel has its own restaurant, both offering a wide variety of options, from local favorites to international dishes, plus fresh fruit and hot meals daily. Room-wise, the Novotel is slightly larger (20 sqm vs. 15 sqm) and comes with a small sofa, while the Mercure is more compact but otherwise identical in amenities. Everything else is the same: daily snacks like chips, two beers, and four drinks included. The Novotel is pricier by about CNY 100–200, but honestly, the difference isn’t worth it for me. For a long stay, the Mercure offers better value without sacrificing comfort or quality. If you’re looking for a reliable, well-located, and affordable option in Singapore, this pair of hotels is definitely worth considering.
