We arrived at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill around 10 a.m. and were planning to drop off our bags before heading out, but the front desk staff—kindly an older gentleman—went out of his way to check availability and actually let us check in several hours early! That was such a pleasant surprise, and he even wished us a great time on our trip to Brisbane and hoped we’d come back again. Honestly, I was a little nervous before checking in because I’d seen mixed reviews, but the room exceeded my expectations—spacious, spotlessly clean, and with amazing views of the sunset from the window. The only thing? You do have to walk up a few steps since the hotel is situated on a hill, but it’s worth it for the quiet atmosphere and gorgeous skyline. On the ground floor, there’s a cozy bar and restaurant where we had dinner—ordered their steak with a glass of red wine, which came in at around $55 AUD. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. Everything about this stay felt warm and welcoming. If I ever return to Brisbane, this will definitely be my top choice.
