Staying at Moots Tulum was an absolutely fantastic experience overall. The hotel location is perfect—close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful scenery, making it ideal for relaxation and exploration. The only minor note is that the gym could use a bit more attention in terms of maintenance, but it’s not a dealbreaker at all. That said, transportation in Tulum is a real challenge—taxis are outrageously expensive. Just one-way from the airport to the hotel cost $1,700, and round-trip would be even more. Moving around town is similarly pricey. We ended up using Uber, which was much more affordable. Renting a car for 5 days and 4 nights came to $4,600, which is steep, but still better than relying on taxis. If you're planning to explore the area, I’d definitely recommend booking a rental car or using ride-sharing apps in advance. Despite the transport headaches, the hotel itself is outstanding—highly recommend for anyone visiting Tulum.
