My stay at Sandton Skye Unit 702 was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, I was handed a different room that wasn’t clean and had an unpleasant smell. The next day, housekeeping knocked on my door as I was stepping out for dinner, informing me I needed to pack up immediately and move back to my original room—no prior notice or communication was given. I told them I’d do it when I returned from my appointment. When I came back, everything had already been moved without any warning. My belongings were scattered and stuffed into bags haphazardly, and the door was left open. It felt deeply invasive—someone entered my private space, handled my personal items, and rearranged everything without consent. When I raised concerns, the staff only said, 'We know it’s wrong to touch your things, but we’re sorry.' That response didn’t justify the breach of privacy. The second room was cleaner, but the lingering smoke from neighbors smoking on every floor made it hard to relax. I’ve traveled all over the world, and this is the first time I’ve experienced such a violation of personal space. I used to think this property was reliable, but it clearly isn’t anymore. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. For peace of mind, just go somewhere with proper standards and respect for guests.

Sandton Skye Unit
Our stay at Sandton Skye Unit 313 was absolutely disappointing, especially considering it was our wedding night. From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. The room had no romantic touches despite our request for a special atmosphere. The toilet seat was completely broken — it shifted when sat on, making it nearly unusable. The bathroom sink was blocked, and the central heating didn’t work at all. The oil heater provided was filthy with grime, and its wheels were missing. The microwave was missing the glass tray. Pillowcases were torn, and the bathtub was so dirty we couldn’t even consider using it after our wedding. To make matters worse, there were exposed wires near the bed — clearly from the lampshade base — which posed a serious safety hazard. We reported these issues to the manager, who promised an alternative room would be arranged upon our return. When we came back, we were met with hostility and accused of lying. She claimed housekeeping had checked the room and found everything in order, despite the visible damage. We asked for repairs, but were told nothing could be fixed over the weekend. When we requested a refund because we wanted to book elsewhere immediately, we were denied. We took clear photos showing the problems, including timestamped screenshots proving they were taken in the evening — evidence we sent directly to her, only to be ignored. No response followed, even after multiple follow-ups. This experience has left my wife and me deeply upset, especially given the significance of our wedding night. I cannot recommend this unit to anyone. Staff at the building confirmed they’ve received numerous complaints that go unaddressed. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing escape after a special event, avoid this place. It’s not just bad service — it’s a total lack of professionalism and care.
