Mayfair Hanoi
The only redeeming factor was the central location, but beyond that, there wasn't much to recommend. The property felt extremely outdated and poorly maintained. The room had a strong musty smell, almost like urine, and our bathroom flooded due to a faulty bidet—housekeeping wasn’t available until the next day to fix it. Both showers were covered in mold, and the water pressure was inconsistent, causing water to spill outside the shower area. We were promised a basketball hoop for fun, but it was lying on the floor and completely non-functional. The pool, which was actually the main reason we booked, was underwhelming and didn’t meet expectations. I never felt comfortable throughout the stay—I even wore slippers all the time because the floors felt dirty. The bed linens had visible stains, and again, we had to wait until the next day for replacement since housekeeping had already left. If you're okay with hostel-level standards and don’t mind paying premium prices for a subpar experience, then maybe this is an option. But personally, we won’t be recommending it to anyone.

The location is unbeatable—within a 5 to 10-minute walk or ride to many major attractions, making sightseeing effortless. I worked remotely for two full days in my room, and the Wi-Fi connection was rock-solid, allowing me to stay productive without any interruptions. Breakfast on the top floor was a highlight—plenty of options, fresh ingredients, and panoramic views of the city that made every morning feel special. The staff truly stood out, especially the two young guys at the entrance who were consistently friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile to assist with everything from luggage to local recommendations. Their warm hospitality made our stay even more memorable. This hotel offers excellent value and service—definitely a place I’d return to without hesitation.
