The Beach Tulum Hotel
The Beach Tulum Hotel truly delivered on its promise—everything was impeccable. The room was fantastic, with an incredibly comfortable bed and breathtaking views that made every moment feel like a postcard. Unfortunately, we visited during the sargassum season, which caused the water to turn brownish-red and sometimes carried a faint odor from decomposing seaweed along the shore. That said, I can only imagine how stunning the view must be when the beach is clear. The hotel features two excellent restaurants, and the meals were delicious and well-prepared. Despite the seasonal drawback, the overall experience was outstanding. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway if you’re looking for beauty, comfort, and great food.
Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club
The Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club has a promising concept, but the reality falls short in several areas. The main pool area feels more like a kiddie splash zone than a functional lounge space—more for kids than adults. Drinks served at the on-site bars don’t match the quality expected from a Secrets property, which is disappointing given the brand’s reputation. The beach club experience is also hindered by long transfers—expect to spend 30 to 60 minutes just getting there and back, which cuts into relaxation time. Overall, it feels more tailored to younger travelers looking for a vibrant, casual vibe rather than a refined, relaxing escape. If you’re okay with the commute and don’t mind a less polished atmosphere, it still offers a unique tropical setting. But if comfort and seamless service are priorities, this might not be the best fit.

My room was thoughtfully equipped with a comfy bed, ample space for luggage, a small table with chairs, a mini kitchenette, a smart TV, reliable hot water, air conditioning, and free filtered water. The manager, Guillermo, went above and beyond—he took time to help me check bus and train schedules, even stored some of my belongings while I visited another city for a few days before returning for my last night in Tulum. I also loved the on-site café; the coffee was rich and aromatic, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. This place truly stood out for its warmth, convenience, and attention to detail. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Tulum.

Everything you need is within reach, making it super convenient for exploring the area. This place offers such great value and charm—definitely a highlight of our trip, and we’d happily return.

But what truly sets this place apart is the staff—their warm, attentive service is second to none. Special thanks to Elíseo, Christian, Felipe, Manuel, and the entire team for making our experience so memorable. They go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. The beach is just a 5km drive away, where you can enjoy some of the most popular beach clubs in the area.
