We recently stayed at Luxe on Ridge Boutique Hotel for a friend's wedding in Durban, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive—especially Shanice, who went above and beyond to help us multiple times. I accidentally left behind my AirPods after check-out, and she took the time to locate them and return them to me—truly exceptional service. The only minor suggestion would be to expand the breakfast menu with more vegetarian options, as there weren’t always enough choices available. Otherwise, the hotel’s ambiance, attention to detail, and overall comfort made it a standout stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Durban.

I stayed just one night as I needed to catch an early morning bus the next day, and the location was perfect—right across the parking lot from the Intercape bus pickup point. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I felt safe throughout my stay. I was a bit concerned about potential noise from nearby traffic, but surprisingly, it was very quiet. The room offered basic but sufficient amenities: clean bathroom, comfortable bed, and complimentary coffee available at reception. Security personnel were visible outside the property, which added to the sense of safety. Overall, this is a no-frills option that delivers exactly what you need for a short stopover. If you're traveling through Durban and need a convenient, reliable place to rest before catching a bus, this hotel is a solid choice.

Britannia Hotel
This visit was truly disappointing. I’ve been coming to this hotel for years and always enjoyed the excellent food and service, but this recent experience was a complete letdown. The bar staff were arrogant and completely dismissive, taking ages to serve even simple drinks with no courtesy. Management seemed indifferent—no apology, no effort to resolve issues. It felt like the place had gone downhill fast. I can’t imagine returning or recommending it to anyone. This is not the Britannia Hotel I once knew. A real shame.
