There’s no shelf or storage for small items like toiletries or phones, and there are no hooks for hanging clothes. Still, it works if you’re only staying one night. A few downsides: soundproofing isn’t great, so if you open the window, traffic noise from the road comes through loud and clear. Also, the shower head has no holder—so you have to hold it in one hand while washing, which is awkward. Check-in took longer than expected because staff were busy checking in another guest, going through paperwork, taking deposits, and even escorting them to their apartment before we could proceed. After a long journey, that delay felt exhausting. And the worst part? Check-out was even worse. I handed back my key and just wanted to grab a quick complimentary coffee before heading out—only to be told firmly, "You’ve already checked out! You can’t use the facilities now." Even the restroom was off-limits. While technically correct, this kind of rigid attitude completely ruined the experience. I’ve never encountered such a strict policy at any hotel or hostel before. It’s disappointing when a great location and good service are overshadowed by poor guest experience at the end.

The property itself is small, but just a 5-minute walk away is the pool at Neolit Senator hotel—be sure to check with reception about access. Also, it's only about 10 minutes on foot to Albatsos Beach (up and down), making beach trips super convenient. Everything was perfect—the location, the comfort, the vibe. Sonata Hotel
We stayed at Sonata Hotel in August 2024, and while the cleanliness was excellent—with daily housekeeping—it was disappointing to experience such poor service upon arrival. The hotel is very close to the beach and just a short walk from the electric train station, making it convenient for exploring Sochi. However, when we arrived early and had already coordinated with the front desk, the security guard refused to let us in and even tried to escort us out with our child. It felt extremely unwelcoming, especially after paying extra for early check-in. The manager who eventually arrived didn’t offer any apology, which left us feeling upset and frustrated. Our mood remained low throughout the stay, despite the clean rooms and pleasant seaside walks that helped lift spirits. To our dismay, the same unfriendly staff member was there again during check-out, repeating the same cold attitude. While the location and cleanliness were positives, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy made the experience unpleasant. We won’t be returning—no matter how free the offer. For the price, guests deserve better than being treated like intruders.
