Rooms are clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with essentials: disposable slippers, purified water, mini-fridge, toiletries, towels, and air conditioning. Each floor has access to free drinking water, and elevators make moving between floors easy. Staff at reception speak fluent English, making check-in and communication smooth. Even after checkout, they offered complimentary luggage storage—a real convenience for late departures. The ground-floor restaurant serves tasty food with friendly service. The only minor downside? First-time visitors might find it tricky to locate. It’s tucked behind St. Catherine’s Church, with a small, unassuming entrance that looks like a regular apartment door. But once you spot the yellow facade and the hotel name on the wall, it’s easy to find. I’ve even marked the route on my map to help others. We've visited Matisov Domik twice now and are already counting down the days to return. There are tons of cafes, eateries, and restaurants nearby—great options for every budget—including the famous pastry shop, just across the bridge. In the evenings, I loved relaxing in the common area with a cup of tea, chatting with the friendly front desk staff. It felt like coming home. This place offers incredible value and charm. Definitely worth staying at.
