After reading countless reviews on the platform, I finally chose Grand Hotel Emerald and was genuinely impressed. The entire check-in and stay experience was smooth and seamless—exactly what I hoped for. The hotel is spotless, with a fantastic breakfast that can even be delivered to your room if you prefer. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, with dedicated personnel helping with luggage, which made the arrival feel effortless. Located just a short walk from the train station, it’s convenient for getting around. While major attractions like the Hermitage, Church of the Savior on Blood, and the Great Bookstore aren’t right next door, walking along Nevsky Prospekt is part of the charm—there are so many little shops and cafes to explore along the way. One unique touch in our room was a signed artwork by a famous figure hanging above the bed—anyone else stayed in that same room? The only minor downside is the lack of in-room Wi-Fi, but honestly, it didn’t bother me at all—my phone hotspot worked perfectly fine. Overall, this place offers excellent value, comfort, and atmosphere. I’d definitely come back.

However, the flavors didn’t quite live up to expectations—while the presentation was stellar, the taste was underwhelming, and after three consecutive days, it started to feel repetitive. Still, this minor drawback doesn’t take away from the exceptional value and comfort this hotel offers. For great location, elegant design, and thoughtful touches, Wawelberg Hotel earns every bit of its top rating.

The hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of the city, just steps away from St. Isaac's Cathedral and within walking distance to the Winter Palace. Public transport is super convenient, making it easy to explore everything nearby. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-maintained—very comfortable for our stay. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English, which made check-in and check-out smooth. One thing to note: there’s a mandatory 350 rubles per person immigration registration fee upon departure, and it must be paid in cash. We recommend bringing some cash just in case. Overall, this hotel offers great value, exceptional location, and a welcoming atmosphere—definitely a top choice for anyone visiting Saint Petersburg.
