Hotel España
We had an absolutely fantastic time at Hotel España! While we initially chose it for its prime location, what truly made us come back again and again was the incredible hospitality from the staff. They’re consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely go the extra mile—not just with practical touches like providing mate tea, calling taxis, or opening the elevator, but also through warm smiles, friendly tones, and that personal touch that makes you feel truly welcome. This human-centered service is what sets them apart from other hotels in the area. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained—great beds, working AC, TV, and a hairdryer in every room. Everything’s spotless and cozy, making it a perfect home away from home. Breakfast is generous, delicious, and varied—exactly what you want to start your day right. Despite being right in the heart of town, the hotel is remarkably quiet and peaceful. And as a huge fan of Cerati, I absolutely loved how they play his music in the background—it added such a special vibe. 10 out of 10 without hesitation!

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It's clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained—everything feels new and thoughtfully cared for. The room size is just right, with a great mattress, soft linens, and quality towels that make you feel pampered from the moment you step in. All facilities work perfectly, and it’s obvious the staff takes pride in keeping the place spotless and functional. The service is outstanding—especially at reception, where the team is friendly, efficient, and always willing to help. The breakfast area and restaurant have beautiful views, and some rooms even overlook the sea, which adds a special touch to your stay. Location-wise, it’s close to downtown and the famous La Perla beach, yet tucked into a quiet, peaceful neighborhood without any noise or disturbance. The pool is small but perfect for relaxing with a view—it’s not big, so it might feel crowded during peak season, but for regular use, it’s ideal. Breakfast is simple but satisfying—eggs, fresh fruit, cold cuts, and cheese cover all the basics without overcomplicating things. Nothing fancy, but it works. Overall, this place delivers on comfort, convenience, and value. I was genuinely impressed and would absolutely stay here again if I return to Mar del Plata.

I was genuinely impressed by this hotel—staff went above and beyond to assist and ensure everything ran smoothly. The cleanliness is outstanding, and while some rooms are on the smaller side, they’ve been recently renovated and still feel welcoming and cozy. Breakfast is exceptionally complete and satisfying, and I highly recommend the seafood risotto for dinner—it’s a standout dish. It’s also a great option to dine in when the weather isn’t ideal or during major sports events, as you can enjoy your meal while watching games in the restaurant or lobby area. This place works perfectly for both business and family stays—the guests look relaxed, well-rested, and genuinely pleasant. Free parking is available just around the corner, or there’s a reasonable-rate option right across the street—a real plus. You’re within walking distance of everything you might need: pharmacies, health food stores, fresh markets, local pastries, Mar del Plata Cathedral, and even La Perla Beach. Everything’s convenient and close at hand. Definitely a place I’d return to without hesitation.

Veronica, our host, was absolutely wonderful—warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She met us at the property after the standard check-in time and even allowed us to check out 1.5 hours later than usual, which was a huge plus. Since we decided not to rent a car during our stay in Mar del Plata, she generously offered to give us a personal walking tour of the neighborhood, showing us where to find local grocery stores, restaurants, and essential spots. The apartment itself is modern, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. A real highlight of our trip! We absolutely loved Hotel TreintaSeis and would definitely return. We were looking to escape the cold weather in Buenos Aires, and this stay was perfect for that. The heating was just right, the bed was comfortable and cozy, and the breakfast was both varied and high quality. We ordered room service and had lunch in our room upon arrival—such a convenient treat! We also made good use of the gym and the outdoor patio with tables ideal for enjoying a traditional mate. Having a small kitchenette and a cozy sofa with a side table made it even more enjoyable, especially during winter when we just wanted to relax in our room with a warm drink. The price was very fair—actually one of the best rates we’ve found in this category. Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and a cozy retreat.

The hotel is about 20 blocks from the beach, which is a bit far, but it's located in a lively area with constant activity around. We parked our car outside every night without any issues—security has really improved since the local authorities relocated the previous transient groups. The owners are absolutely outstanding—11 out of 10 for service! Breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, and the room cleanliness was top-notch. What stood out most was their genuine love for animals—there were stray cats and dogs around, and they clearly care for them. It’s rare to find such warmth and kindness in hospitality. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mar del Plata.
Hotel San José Mdq
This stay was a complete disaster from start to finish. The entire room was soaked with moisture—walls, floors, even the bathroom was dripping. We weren’t given a single towel for bathing, and the sheets were old, stained, and clearly never washed. On the first night, there was no hot water at all—just freezing cold showers. The rooms weren’t cleaned during our stay, and we found ants crawling around in the bedroom, which was absolutely horrifying. The toilet was loose and wobbly, and the tiny two-by-two bathroom flooded every time we turned on the tap. The staff’s service was subpar—rude, indifferent, and completely unhelpful. This place felt more like a nightmare than a hotel. I’ve stayed in many places worldwide, but nothing comes close to this level of neglect. Do not stay here—avoid it at all costs.
