Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Vostok Rocket

Hyatt Regency Moscow is a top choice, located just 15 minutes by car from the Vostok Rocket exhibit. The hotel features modern rooms, premium amenities, and an elevated panoramic restaurant offering stunning views of Moscow’s skyline. It also provides dedicated shuttle services to the Cosmonautics Museum, where the Vostok rocket is displayed, making it ideal for space history enthusiasts.

Another excellent option is Marriott Hotel Kremlin, slightly farther but well-connected via metro. Known for its historic architecture and authentic Russian cultural ambiance, this hotel offers a unique blend of imperial elegance and modern comfort, perfect for travelers interested in Soviet-era science and engineering legacy.

HopeGoo in advance is strongly advised, especially during major aerospace exhibitions to secure preferred accommodations and convenient access.

Take the metro to Novomoskovskaya Station, then transfer to Bus Line 92 or book a private ride—total travel time is about 30 minutes. The metro system is extensive and frequent, offering a cost-effective option. For greater convenience and comfort, use Uber or Yandex.Taxi, which can reach the exhibition site in approximately 25 minutes with door-to-door service.

Many guided tours include the Vostok Rocket as part of a space-themed day trip, covering transportation, expert commentary, and timed entry. This is ideal for travelers who prefer a hassle-free experience. Always check the exhibition hours in advance to avoid missing access, especially during peak seasons or special events.

Visit the full-scale Vostok rocket replica at the Cosmonautics Museum, where you can examine the capsule and instrumentation up close, reliving the historic moment of Yuri Gagarin’s first human spaceflight. Interactive touchscreens allow you to simulate the 1961 orbital journey, including zero-gravity effects and mission control sequences.

The museum hosts regular space-themed lectures and hands-on science workshops led by former Soviet engineers, offering accessible insights into early space technology. During special anniversaries, live simulated launch ceremonies with sound, lighting, and stage effects create an immersive atmosphere.

Allocate at least two hours for your visit, and consider purchasing an audio guide with multilingual narration to deepen your understanding and enhance the overall experience.

The exhibition complex features a space-themed children’s play zone with interactive elements like mock spacecraft, gravity simulation devices, and touchable star maps, turning learning into fun for young visitors. Just a 5-minute walk away is Moscow Oblast Green Park, offering picnic areas, playgrounds, and scenic walking paths—perfect for family relaxation.

Nearby, the Space Café serves rocket-shaped pastries and astronaut-themed drinks, while displaying real mission suits and instrument fragments in glass cases, blending education with casual dining. All facilities are wheelchair-accessible with ramps and elevators for seniors and guests with mobility needs.

Bring a lightweight backpack—free Wi-Fi and charging stations are available throughout the area, ideal for capturing memories and sharing them instantly.

Baraban Hostel

Baraban Hostel is located in the vibrant 798-Number 3 Bakery area of Moscow, surrounded by trendy boutiques, cozy cafés, and indie eateries—perfect for a relaxed, artsy vibe. The neighborhood feels like a hidden gem, ideal for young travelers and students looking to unwind. I stayed in a private single room for the first three nights and then switched to a female six-bed dorm for the last night—both were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. One of the highlights? A sweet 17-pound cat (yes, that’s about 8 kg!) who’s incredibly gentle and always lounging on the sofa waiting for pets. It adds such a warm, homely touch. The location is super convenient—just a short metro ride from the city center—and the whole experience felt authentic and welcoming. Definitely recommend this hostel if you’re looking for a budget-friendly, friendly stay with character.

Q-block Capsule Hotel

Staying at Q-block Capsule Hotel was a fantastic experience! The place is spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with electronic locks on both the beds and lockers—great for security and peace of mind. While there’s no elevator and you’ll need to carry your luggage up four floors, the staff are incredibly helpful and always ready to assist with lifting bags. The walk to the nearest metro station is about 1.5 km, but it’s mostly along wide, well-lit streets with good sidewalks, making it safe even in the evening. There’s also a bus stop just around 500 meters away, offering convenient access to other parts of Moscow. Overall, this is a smart, budget-friendly choice with excellent value for money. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Moscow.

Travel Inn Novoslobodskaya - Hostel

The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice local vibe—most guests seemed to be long-term residents, which gave the place a genuine, homely feel. It's well-connected to the city center via metro, making it super convenient for exploring Moscow. Great value for money if you're looking for an authentic stay without sacrificing comfort.

Jack Pot Energy Hotel

I stayed in a single room and was really pleased with the experience. The room came with an en-suite bathroom and basic toiletries provided—though no bottled water, which I had to bring myself. Cleanliness was excellent, and the quiet atmosphere made it perfect for rest, especially since the other guests were respectful and kept things peaceful. While the soundproofing isn’t flawless, it’s not a major issue given how quiet everyone was. The location is fantastic—just steps away from a hospital and pharmacy, plus a metro station nearby that makes getting around Moscow super easy. Right outside the hotel is a small green park with benches, ideal for relaxing or just sitting quietly with a book. It’s a lovely little spot to unwind after a long day. Overall, great value, very convenient, and a comfortable stay—I’d definitely come back.

Ester House - Hostel

We visited in November with our kids aged 10 to 15 and were absolutely thrilled! First of all, the place is spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. There are plenty of bathrooms, all in perfect working condition. The rooms are well-designed, with cozy bedding, supportive mattresses, and soft pillows—great for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen is spacious and practical, making meal prep easy. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely act like family—like they truly care about the hostel as if it were their own home. And the location? Absolutely unbeatable. If we ever come back to Moscow, this is the only place we’ll stay. Huge thanks to everyone—it was an unforgettable experience!

Ptichka

Staying at Ptichka Hotel in the heart of Moscow was an absolute delight. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. After this trip, every other hotel I've stayed at has been compared to Ptichka—and none come close. What truly sets it apart is the convenience of having a salad bar and small shops right within the building, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or essentials without leaving the premises. Everything about this place—cleanliness, comfort, value, and attention to detail—is simply outstanding. It’s not just a hotel; it’s a little gem in the city center that I’ll definitely be returning to.

Rasteniya I Nastroeniya Hotel

We arrived late at night after a short taxi ride, and despite the slightly tricky location—hidden a bit off the main street and requiring a short walk toward the center of the block—the staff were welcoming and efficient with check-in. The room was cozy, quiet, and perfect for a good night’s sleep. We booked a private bathroom option, and everything was spotless and recently renovated. While there’s no closet, that’s part of its charm—ideal for quick getaways. The entire space is made of wood, giving it a warm, inviting atmosphere. There’s no blackout curtain, but the lighting blends naturally with the rustic aesthetic. Downstairs, there’s a charming café serving excellent breakfasts: delicious pastries, a wide variety of teas, and especially rich, homemade porridge. It’s a small gem in Moscow’s neighborhood. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Minima Belorusskaya Hotel

I’ve stayed here twice already, and each visit gets better! The location is fantastic—just one metro stop from the city center, and it’s only a 9-minute walk to Belorusskaya Station. I love how close everything is: right next to the Depot food hall, with a nice little park nearby, and you can even walk to the Moscow Zoo. The room itself is clean and cozy, though the shower area is a bit small and there’s no shelf at all—definitely could use a little more storage space. Still, the convenience, comfort, and overall value make it worth it. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Moscow.

Sultan-2

The location provided for this hotel was completely off—spending over an hour circling around the wrong spot due to unreliable GPS in Russia, which often drifts. I finally found the actual address only after calling a local resident for help. The real place is nearly a kilometer away from where it's listed on the platform, making it extremely difficult to locate. It's situated deep within a residential neighborhood, very quiet and far from any main attractions. The room itself is tiny, with a bed width of less than 80 cm—definitely not comfortable for a good night’s sleep. I had hoped being close to Belarus Station would make my next-day departure easier, but that wasn’t the case; it’s actually quite a distance away. There’s no front desk—just an apartment-style setup—so you’re entirely reliant on phone communication, which can be stressful if you don’t speak Russian. For first-time visitors to Moscow who don’t speak the language, I strongly advise avoiding this property. Arriving late at night? You’ll probably end up lost and frustrated. Overall, poor value, misleading location, and a frustrating experience.

Hotel Continental

I stayed at Hotel Continental when it first opened 15 years ago, and returning now, everything is still top-notch! The hairdryer in the room is absolutely amazing—lightweight yet incredibly powerful. I didn’t expect such strong airflow from something so compact. It made getting ready so much easier. The hotel maintains its charm and excellent service over the years, which is rare these days. Located just minutes from the city center via metro, it’s both convenient and well-priced. If I ever return to Moscow, this will be my go-to choice again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting!

Radisson Blu Belorusskaya Hotel

Staying at Radisson Blu Belorusskaya Hotel in Moscow was an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel boasts a clean, well-maintained environment with a modern and inviting atmosphere—both the lobby and rooms were spotless and fresh. The staff went above and beyond with their friendly and professional service; they were attentive, helpful, and made me feel truly welcome. Location-wise, it’s incredibly convenient—just a short ride from the airport, and easily accessible via metro. The station is well-connected, making travel around Moscow hassle-free. Plus, there are plenty of dining options and local amenities nearby. Whether you're here for business or leisure, this hotel offers great value and comfort. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Moscow.

Sleepy Tom Butik-Hotel

Staying at Sleepy Tom Butik-Hotel in Moscow was an absolute delight from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with tips or recommendations. The location is perfect: just a short walk from major attractions and public transit, making it easy to explore the city without hassle. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, creating a true home-away-from-home vibe. Breakfast was a standout—freshly prepared on the spot with delicious flavors and high-quality ingredients. I especially loved the homemade pastries and rich coffee. The bar is fantastic, offering a wide variety of wines and cocktails, ideal for unwinding in the evening. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s a social hub where you can mingle with fellow travelers and locals alike. The warmth of the space, combined with thoughtful touches throughout, makes this hotel feel truly special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for charm, comfort, and authenticity in Moscow.
