Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Santorini

We recently celebrated our second honeymoon at Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Santorini for nine unforgettable days, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive, efficient, and genuinely warm—something we truly appreciate as owners of a luxury wedding venue in the U.S. The pool design is stunning, especially with the evening lighting that creates such a magical atmosphere. Our room offered breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea, and every morning felt like a postcard come to life. That said, if you're sensitive to loud music during daytime hours (especially between 11:30 AM and 7 PM), avoid rooms directly overlooking the main pool area—the vibe can get quite lively. Also, while the private pools are charming, some could use more greenery and decorative touches to feel more intimate. And be aware: for about 80% of the pool-access rooms, neighboring units overlook your space, so privacy isn’t always guaranteed. Still, this didn’t take away from our overall joy. We highly recommend choosing a view-oriented room over one with just a small pool. Thank you, Nikki Beach, for an extraordinary experience!

La Maltese Caldera Concept

The view of the Skaros Rocks from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking—literally right outside your door. Every morning felt like waking up in a postcard. The breakfast spread was exceptional, with fresh local ingredients and a great variety that catered to all tastes. Staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. This stay exceeded expectations in every way—perfect for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Milos Villas Hotel

Staying at Milos Villas Hotel was a highlight of my Santorini trip. Located just a 15-minute walk from Fira, the hotel offers excellent access to the island’s main attractions and makes getting around incredibly convenient. I booked the traditional windmill room—charming in design, but the staircase to the second floor was steep and challenging, especially with luggage. The bathroom was extremely compact; even for someone of average build, using the toilet felt awkward and cramped. That said, the staff were exceptional—always friendly, attentive, and eager to help. Their warm hospitality truly made up for the room’s limitations. If you’re visiting Santorini and looking for a welcoming, well-located stay with genuine service, I’d highly recommend this place.

Anamar Santorini

This hotel turned out to be an absolute gem—far better than I expected. I originally chose it just for a single night before my flight out of Santorini, mainly because of its close proximity to the airport and affordable price point. But honestly, I wish we’d stayed longer—except for one minor issue, this place easily outshined several much more expensive hotels we’d stayed at elsewhere on the island. Our arrival wasn’t ideal: we’d arranged a transfer from the ferry port, but due to a last-minute change in ferry schedules that caused a delay, the driver missed us. In the chaos of the port, we ended up squeezed into a crowded minibus doing a full-island tour before finally arriving at the hotel. That said, the moment we stepped in, the staff’s warm welcome made all the difference. They sincerely apologized—even though the mix-up was entirely beyond their control—and immediately offered a beautiful fruit platter, which we enjoyed relaxing with on our private patio. The next morning, they even covered the cost of our taxi to the airport. Truly exceptional hospitality. The hotel sits just a short, peaceful walk away from the charming little village and beach of Monolithos—perfect for a quiet morning stroll or sunset view. Our room was simple but comfortable, with a good bed and plenty of natural light. The only small drawback was that the sink was inside the room and the shower had no door, so water inevitably splashed everywhere—but again, considering the price, it’s a fair trade-off. Breakfast was generous and served as a buffet, either in the dining room or by the pool, where a full-service bar was open all day. From start to finish, this stay felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable. If you’re looking for a cozy, well-located, and incredibly welcoming spot in Santorini, this is definitely worth booking.

B Suites

Staying at B Suites in Santorini was an absolute highlight of my trip. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a stunning view of the Aegean Sea—especially magical at sunset. The location is perfect: just a 15-minute walk from the town bus stop, and despite the quiet streets being a bit dark at night, I felt completely safe throughout my stay. The architecture blends traditional Cycladic charm with modern comfort, making it ideal for photos and relaxing vibes. One small downside? No kettle in the room—but honestly, that didn’t affect my experience much since the hotel provided hot water dispensers nearby. Overall, this place offers incredible value, excellent service, and a memorable atmosphere. If you're looking for a peaceful yet central base to explore Santorini, this is definitely the spot.

Ananda Suites

Staying at Ananda Suites in Santorini was a truly memorable experience, thanks to its unbeatable location and the warm hospitality from the staff. The manager personally met us at the bus stop—such a thoughtful touch, especially since navigating between the different suites can be tricky due to varied access routes. Once inside, we found the bed incredibly comfortable and the outdoor seating area perfect for lazy mornings or relaxing afternoons with a view of the Aegean Sea. While our room had a less-than-ideal outlook toward an old, overgrown building, looking up instantly transformed the scene with breathtaking sea views that made up for it. The suite features what’s marketed as a spa pool—it's essentially a deep soaking tub, so don’t expect anything fancy, but again, the view more than makes up for it. That said, one major concern: privacy is almost nonexistent. Balconies, sun lounging spots, and even the spa area are completely exposed—so if you value privacy, be warned. There’s no hiding here. We also faced a real nightmare when our two-year-old daughter accidentally locked us out using an outdated door lock. No amount of fumbling worked—we were stuck outside, and the only way back in was teaching her how to climb a 2-foot window sill and open it. It was the most stressful two hours of my life. Thankfully, the manager responded immediately, replaced the lock, and ensured there were no gas or hot water sources near the door, which brought huge relief. One small suggestion: the children’s bed was placed far from the main bedroom, separated by the entrance. For safety reasons, having a roll-away crib closer to the main sleeping area would be ideal. Overall, the location is outstanding, the service is genuinely caring, and the scenery is unmatched. A few updates would elevate the experience even further—but definitely worth staying, just keep in mind the lack of privacy and be prepared for some quirky details.

Villa Leon

Villa Leon truly lived up to the hype. Our group of seven comfortably fit into this spacious 2,500 sq ft two-story villa, thanks to its four bedrooms and four bathrooms—perfect for a family reunion or friends’ getaway. The sunroom is a highlight: sitting there with a drink in hand, soaking in the stunning views of the surrounding estates, felt like pure relaxation. While the modern interior design gives it a sleek feel, you can’t help but appreciate the charm of its older structure—there’s character in every corner. Communication with staff Mativa and Soni was seamless; they responded promptly to every request, making our stay effortless. We arrived in November, so we missed out on the outdoor pool, but the indoor hot tub was a cozy alternative during cooler evenings. If you’re planning a larger gathering, this villa is an absolute must-book. A perfect blend of comfort, style, and hospitality.

Karpimo Horizon - Caldera View with Private Hot Tub

We stayed at Karpimo Horizon, a unique cave house with stunning caldera views, and while the location and overall size of the property were definitely a highlight, our experience didn’t live up to expectations. The unit itself feels outdated and in need of renovation—especially the kitchen, which was tiny and poorly equipped. During our four-night stay, we received no housekeeping services, no trash removal, and the outdoor patio remained uncleaned throughout. It’s disappointing when you’re paying for a private retreat but get zero support from the team. We’ve visited Santorini four times now and have seen many better options with more thoughtful service and upkeep. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, we can’t recommend this villa or plan to return. There are plenty of other places on the island that offer a much better balance of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Sensyo Caves

Staying at Sensyo Caves was an interesting experience—its cave-style design and unique setting in Santorini are definitely memorable. However, the lack of air conditioning made it quite uncomfortable during warmer evenings, especially since the rooms stay hot without proper cooling. The Wi-Fi connection was also very weak, making it hard to stream videos or even check messages reliably. While the location offers a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path vibe with stunning views, it’s not ideal for travelers who rely on strong internet or need a cool, comfortable room. If you're looking for something more rustic and don’t mind basic amenities, it could be a good fit. But for those prioritizing comfort and connectivity, this place might fall short.

Alluvial Santorini Suites

I strongly advise against staying here. The towels and linens were extremely dirty upon arrival, and when we requested clean replacements, the property owner became visibly upset and even mentioned in their response that we were difficult guests—yet we simply asked for basic cleanliness and clarification about the property. Missing beach towels forced us to request them separately, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, the access road was nearly impossible to navigate with our luggage, and this critical detail was completely omitted from the listing description. This lack of transparency and poor guest service made our stay stressful and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone.

Sunrise Private Villas

We booked this property through a platform and immediately hit a red flag when the hotel failed to respond to our message about arranging a transfer service—an option they listed as available for an extra fee. We ended up booking a ride elsewhere and drove to the location, only to find absolutely no one there. Some construction workers from a nearby site helped us out, even trying to contact people in their network, but nobody had ever heard of Sunrise Private Villas. The phone numbers listed on Google and Instagram didn’t work—both were incorrect, and the Instagram number was actually a French number, which made no sense. Eventually, one of the workers gave us a ride to Fira, where we contacted the platform again. They tried reaching the property through four different methods with zero success. We were eventually refunded and had to scramble last-minute to book another hotel. This entire experience wasted precious vacation time and left us frustrated. I strongly advise avoiding this place—it’s not worth the stress or the risk of arriving at a non-existent address.

Caldera Edge Suites

The reviews don’t do this place justice. Our junior suite was charming and offered great value for the price we paid. While it’s on the smaller side, it was clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly comfortable. The rooftop hot tub was a highlight—perfectly warm and ideal for relaxing while soaking in the breathtaking caldera views. Location-wise, it’s fantastic—close to town yet tucked away in a quiet spot with minimal noise. That said, finding the entrance can be tricky at first glance. Our only real downside was the check-in process—we arrived late and had no one available to greet us. Calls went unanswered, which caused some stress. It would also be helpful to have a small kettle in the room and a quick info sheet with Wi-Fi details and departure instructions. Despite those minor hiccups, the stunning views, cozy vibe, and overall experience make this a standout stay. Definitely worth considering if you’re looking for something unique and authentic in Santorini.
