Bayshore Hotel

The overall experience was excellent, especially the ocean-view room—stunning scenery with a refreshing sea breeze when the window was open. The only minor issue was that the air conditioning seemed to be set too low, and combined with direct sunlight through the windows, the room temperature stayed uncomfortably high throughout my stay. I kept the window open the entire time, but it didn’t help much with cooling down—made it tough to sleep comfortably. If you’re sensitive to heat, be mindful of this, and consider requesting a room with better climate control or bringing a light blanket. That said, everything else was top-notch: great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and fantastic value for money. Definitely would book again.

Staying at The Castle Hotel in Dalian was an unexpectedly delightful experience. While the property is over ten years old and shows a few signs of aging—like minor cracks on the cabinet above the minibar and some walls—the overall condition doesn’t detract from the comfort or quality of the stay. It’s still a well-maintained luxury hotel with all standard amenities you’d expect. Breakfast was solid, offering more variety than some Westin locations but slightly less than certain Marriott properties. That said, the food quality stood out: the pastries were excellent, juices and milk options were plentiful, and the hot dishes were flavorful despite limited choices. The braised pork belly with potatoes was rich and aromatic, while the steamed shrimp were large and fresh. One area for improvement? The fruit wasn’t very sweet, and the quality could be better. But cleanliness was spotless—no issues there. The location is truly special: perched on a hill overlooking the sea, it’s one of Dalian’s iconic landmarks.
