Bayshore Hotel

The overall experience was excellent, especially the ocean-view room—stunning scenery with a refreshing sea breeze when the window was open. The only minor issue was that the air conditioning seemed to be set too low, and combined with direct sunlight through the windows, the room temperature stayed uncomfortably high throughout my stay. I kept the window open the entire time, but it didn’t help much with cooling down—made it tough to sleep comfortably. If you’re sensitive to heat, be mindful of this, and consider requesting a room with better climate control or bringing a light blanket. That said, everything else was top-notch: great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and fantastic value for money. Definitely would book again.

Breakfast was solid, offering more variety than some Westin locations but slightly less than certain Marriott properties. That said, the food quality stood out: the pastries were excellent, juices and milk options were plentiful, and the hot dishes were flavorful despite limited choices. The braised pork belly with potatoes was rich and aromatic, while the steamed shrimp were large and fresh. One area for improvement? The fruit wasn’t very sweet, and the quality could be better. But cleanliness was spotless—no issues there. The location is truly special: perched on a hill overlooking the sea, it’s one of Dalian’s iconic landmarks. Nighttime photos are absolutely stunning, and walking down to the city takes about 10–15 minutes—quiet and peaceful, though not directly next to a subway station. Taxis are easy to catch. The rooftop garden on the fifth floor is a hidden gem, perfect for relaxing or just enjoying the view. The lobby itself is grand and beautifully designed—every corner is photogenic. Service was exceptional: staff greeted us warmly, opened doors, helped with luggage, and the dedicated concierge team went above and beyond to accommodate requests. The minibar comes at an extra cost, but we were pleasantly surprised with a welcome fruit platter, dessert, and a generous bottle of house-brewed beer—a unique touch. This brew isn’t available online, but it’s smooth, refreshing, and definitely worth trying. Overall, this hotel delivers a high level of charm, comfort, and value. The only minor note is that the hairdryer in the room could use an upgrade—it barely worked. Still, this small issue doesn’t detract from the excellent value and hospitality.
