Staying at Grand Elysee Hamburg was an absolute highlight of my trip to Hamburg. The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from Dammtor Station, making it super easy to get to the airport or downtown. I loved strolling around the neighborhood, with cozy cafés, boutique shops, and a really vibrant cultural vibe. Being in the diplomatic district, it’s quiet and safe, though there aren’t many nightlife options if you’re looking for late-night fun. My deluxe room was stunning—modern minimalist design with just the right touch of vintage charm. The brass lamps and velvet sofa added such a luxurious feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in tons of natural light, and the motorized blackout curtains are a game-changer for sleep quality. The mattress was a real treat—Hypnos, used by the British royal family, made for one of the most restful nights I’ve had in years. Plus, the free mini-bar stocked with non-alcoholic drinks and local snacks was a thoughtful touch. No need to buy anything extra. Everything about this stay felt premium without being over-the-top. 10/10—definitely coming back.

Le Méridien Hamburg

Staying at Le Méridien Hamburg was a wonderful experience overall. I booked a room with a great view, and it definitely lived up to expectations—especially during sunset, when the city skyline looked stunning. The only minor downside was construction right outside the front door, which made access slightly inconvenient, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment. Parking fees were on the higher side, especially considering the room rate; including parking for guests or offering a discount would have been a nice touch. I was really hoping to check out the sauna and pool, but never got around to it—still a small regret. The breakfast was fantastic—fresh salmon, delicious fish salad, and plenty of cheese, all exactly what I love. Hamburg itself is such a beautiful city, and this hotel offers a perfect base to explore it. With its stylish vibe, excellent location, and top-notch breakfast, I’d definitely come back.

It's officially categorized as a 4-star property, but it definitely sits at the very top end of that range. The lounge area is particularly impressive: spacious, stylish, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. Located just minutes from the city center, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring Hamburg’s highlights without the hassle of long commutes. The staff are attentive, the rooms are well-designed, and the attention to detail makes this feel more like a boutique experience than a standard hotel. Despite not having the official 5-star rating, it easily exceeds expectations. This is one of the best stays I’ve had in Germany, and I’d happily return in a heartbeat.
