Staying at Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - South was a great experience overall. The hotel is very well connected by bus, making it easy to reach all major attractions around the city—perfect for travelers who want to explore without hassle. The room was on the smaller side, which is common in Amsterdam, but it was clean, functional, and well-designed. I booked a double-bed room, but the two beds were pushed together with no gap in between—something I’ve noticed is quite typical here in the Netherlands. Despite the compact space, it was comfortable and offered good value for money. While accommodation prices in Amsterdam can be high, this stay felt fair and well-priced. I’d definitely return and recommend it to fellow travelers.

Getting into the city center or to iconic spots like the Van Gogh Museum takes less than 20 minutes by tram, making travel effortless. The hotel is nestled inside a large shopping mall, which means you're never far from essentials—there’s an AH supermarket right on-site that stays open until 11 PM, perfect for late-night snacks or supplies. What made my stay truly special was the kitchenette in the room. I cooked homemade Chinese meals for all four nights—affordable, satisfying, and so much fun. Plus, being surrounded by student housing meant a quiet, safe neighborhood far from the crowded old town. It felt secure and peaceful. I’ll definitely be back here whenever I visit Amsterdam again.
