We booked apartment 5 for four nights and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. We were looking for peace, space, and a quiet retreat after long days exploring Berlin—and that’s exactly what we found. The unit was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, clearly thoughtfully put together with attention to detail. The living area features a spacious built-in wardrobe, a comfortable sofa, and ample room around the dining table—perfect for relaxing or sharing meals. A large TV and reliable Wi-Fi (after an initial tech hiccup, it worked smoothly throughout) added to the comfort. Both bedrooms face the back of the building, making them wonderfully quiet, and the beds were very comfortable—even if slightly on the softer side, which is really just a minor quibble at this level. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you’d need: clean appliances, including a KitchenAid mixer, and even a welcome kit with coffee, tea, sugar, dish soap, dishwasher tablets, and towels. The bathroom felt fresh and well-maintained, with good storage and plenty of space. One small note: the windows were a bit drafty, but likely due to the nearby heating unit rather than poor insulation. We were warmly greeted by the owner’s mother, who showed us around. She had a no-nonsense, straightforward Berliner attitude—but with genuine warmth beneath the surface. The neighborhood isn’t the most glamorous part of Berlin, but it’s safe and walkable, especially in the evenings. Public transport is excellent: Ringbahn (S-Bahn loop) is less than a 5-minute walk away, and multiple bus lines are nearby. This makes getting around the city effortless. For daily needs, there’s a mini-market, a bakery, and kiosks within walking distance. Right around the corner is a fantastic döner place—more restaurant than food stand—with friendly staff and generous portions. Within 10 to 20 minutes’ walk, you’ll find a diverse range of restaurants offering everything from Middle Eastern to classic Berlin-style cuisine. Just a 1.5 km stroll brings you to the Arminiushallen, a must-visit spot for quality groceries and great food. Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations. There’s absolutely no reason to complain—and we’re already planning to return next year.
Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin
Staying at Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin was an absolute pleasure. The location is unbeatable—right next to a convenient supermarket and just a short walk from the subway station. I took the M9 line, which gets you out in minutes, while S42 requires crossing a bridge, but it’s still easy to navigate once you know the route. The room itself was well-designed with excellent space, a great wardrobe, iron, and thoughtful bathroom layout. Only minor downside: the kettle wasn’t very efficient, but it’s something worth upgrading. Cleanliness was top-notch—daily housekeeping kept everything fresh and tidy. Staff were friendly, professional, and spoke English fluently, making communication smooth and pleasant. Overall, the hotel offers fantastic value for money. With easy access to public transit, local convenience, and a comfortable stay, this place really boosts your travel experience. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Berlin.
Hotel Sickinger Hof
The hotel's location was a bit of a letdown—it’s quite far from the city center and the neighborhood didn’t feel very safe. The bed was in poor condition, with noticeable sagging, and the bathroom light didn’t work at all. These issues were definitely frustrating during our stay. However, the staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. She went out of her way to accommodate us by checking us in later than our scheduled time, which made our arrival much smoother. While the property itself has room for improvement, her warm hospitality really stood out. It’s rare to find such genuine kindness amid the shortcomings, and it did soften the overall experience. If you’re looking for a place where personal service shines, this might still be worth considering—just manage your expectations regarding the surroundings and amenities.
