The location is unbeatable—just a 5-minute walk to the subway line 6, making it super easy to explore downtown or head back uptown. I loved being steps away from Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with plenty of great coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and boutiques right outside the door. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—so friendly and attentive. Even with my belongings scattered everywhere, they managed to clean and organize everything thoughtfully without missing a beat. The room was spotless and so comfortable. I genuinely wish I could stay here again. This was hands down the best choice I made for my NYC trip.

Absolutely loved my stay at LIC Hotel! The location is perfect—just a short subway ride from downtown Manhattan. The staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. I stayed for a full week, and while the breakfast menu was consistent throughout, it was still delicious and satisfying. One small suggestion: adding a fresh tomato and cheese salad to the breakfast spread would make it even better. Overall, this hotel offers fantastic value for money and a truly comfortable experience. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting NYC.

The Box House Hotel exceeded my expectations in nearly every way—except for the front desk staff, who could have been a bit more welcoming. Everything else was top-notch. The location is fantastic: just a short subway ride from downtown Manhattan, with plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. My room was clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with modern touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the air felt fresh and crisp throughout the stay. I especially appreciated the well-lit bathroom with strong shower pressure and smart storage solutions. Even though the check-in experience wasn’t as warm as I’d hoped, the overall quality of the hotel, the attention to detail, and the value for money made up for it completely. I’d definitely book here again when visiting New York.

The neighborhood is safe, clean, and full of charm. It’s rare to find such a well-maintained, welcoming place with such great value. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to everyone I know.

Staying at The Gallery House was an absolute delight from start to finish. The apartment is beautifully designed with a unique artistic flair—African masks and sculptures are thoughtfully placed throughout, giving the space a truly one-of-a-kind vibe. We were six people, and despite that, there was plenty of room and comfort. The large main bathroom plus a convenient smaller service bathroom made daily life so much easier—something rare in New York! Our host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Best of all, it’s less than 200 meters from the subway station, putting every major attraction just a short ride away. Whether you’re exploring Manhattan or just relaxing in style, this place offers the perfect balance of charm, convenience, and comfort. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat—highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic, memorable NYC experience.

I enjoyed walking to Columbia University—about a 20-minute stroll through residential streets, which felt safe during daylight hours. That said, I did notice the neighborhood’s safety level is average, so I’d recommend being mindful when walking around late at night. All in all, it's a great choice if you're looking to immerse yourself in a real Harlem vibe without sacrificing comfort or convenience. The value for money is strong, and the hotel delivers on atmosphere and practicality.

Sleep Inn Long Island City - Manhattan View
I booked this property through Choice Hotels and received confirmation along with a 'we're looking forward to your stay' email just a week before arrival. When we arrived, we discovered it was actually a women's shelter, leaving us with no place to stay despite having already paid in advance. It was extremely stressful showing up in New York with no accommodations available—most hotels were fully booked—and all our plans had fallen apart. This experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Please avoid this location at all costs.
