The grand Christmas tree in the lobby added such a magical atmosphere. Our kids loved the kids' play area so much they didn’t want to leave! The hotel overlooks the lake, and Moonlight Pier is just across the bridge—super convenient for walking or taking the metro. This time, we brought my elderly parent who had just recovered from a fracture; mobility was limited, and even eating and moving around were challenging. From check-in onward, the staff went above and beyond. When we requested two rooms, they kindly arranged adjacent ones for easier supervision. Throughout breakfast and dinner buffet service, the team showed exceptional care. During dinner, a young, friendly server noticed our situation and proactively brought a cushion so my parent could elevate their injured arm—something that actually helped with swelling. He even explained the medical reasoning behind it! That level of thoughtfulness and knowledge stood out. Every interaction felt personal, warm, and professional. We’ve already taken photos of several team members’ name tags—we’d love to see them recognized by the hotel. Definitely coming back again!

In the evening, we headed to the Ferris wheel and were pleasantly surprised by how few people were in line—got tickets and boarded right away, enjoying stunning views of the city skyline. The hotel’s Chinese restaurant served amazing noodles with crisp vegetables, and the squirrel-shaped mandarin fish was freshly prepared—absolutely delicious. Breakfast was a highlight too, with a diverse menu including sesame dumplings, Ao Zao noodles, egg rolls, Benedict eggs, sweet pea and pomelo cheese salad, and the yellow peach milk banana pancake—each dish was flavorful and satisfying. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. From comfort to convenience, every detail was spot-on. This place truly delivers on luxury and value. I’ll definitely be back.

The hotel itself has a rich history—it’s said to be Suzhou’s first five-star hotel, and its rooftop restaurant used to be a well-known landmark. Despite its heritage, the pricing feels very reasonable and fair. The room was clean, comfortable, and the overall vibe made me feel right at home. Stayed at Suyuan Hotel during my visit to Suzhou, and I was genuinely impressed. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—when they noticed we had a young child, they proactively offered us a larger twin room with plenty of space, which made our family stay much more comfortable. The room facilities were standard but well-maintained; the bathtub was a big hit with my little one, who spent ages splashing around. The air conditioning worked perfectly—the temperature was just right for autumn, so we didn’t need to crank it up too high. One of the highlights was the large koi pond in the courtyard, where we could buy fish food and feed the colorful fish. My child loved it and couldn’t stop smiling while watching them swim. The entire place was clean and well-kept with no lingering odors or hygiene issues. Overall, this is a great value-for-money option, especially for families. I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Suzhou.

Niccolo Suzhou

I’ve dined at Xinchu a few times before, but this was my first time staying at Niccolo Suzhou—completely different experience! I booked the lake-view N3 room through Karina for my birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. Facing the Oriental Gate, the night views are stunning—glittering lights reflecting on the water, like something out of a movie. Karina went above and beyond with her service—she even surprised me with a birthday cake 🎂, which made the whole stay feel special. The breakfast extending until 11 AM is such a thoughtful touch, especially on weekends when you can just enjoy it as a relaxed brunch and skip lunch. The only minor downside? The room ran surprisingly hot—even at 16°C, it felt stuffy, and by afternoon it seemed close to 30°C, so maybe a slight AC adjustment would help. Also, the pool is on the smaller side. But overall, the exceptional service, incredible location, and beautiful views more than make up for it. A fantastic stay with great value!
