But as soon as we started driving, the driver suddenly stopped and demanded money. There were several young men nearby, intimidating foreigners like me who don’t speak Vietnamese. Without warning, they took around $85 USD directly from my wallet before fleeing. Another guy then took over and brought me to the hotel. It was clearly a scam—no taxi sign, just a private car. This kind of predatory behavior is dangerous and common at the airport. My advice? Avoid hailing rides from anyone near the terminal. Always use trusted platforms or official transportation services instead. That said, the hotel itself is fantastic—great value, comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
