However, I did notice a slight sewer odor in the bathroom—something that could be improved with better ventilation or maintenance. The bed was on the softer side, which didn’t suit my preference for firmer support. That said, the overall experience was excellent, the staff were attentive, and the location made exploring Kota Kinabalu super convenient. A truly memorable stay with only minor tweaks needed.

What truly stands out is the location: directly across from the Kota Kinabalu Tourism Centre, just 2 minutes walk to Sunset Square and about 7–8 minutes to Jesselton Point Pier. On my last day, we returned from the pier during a sudden downpour—no taxis available—but walking back was easy and manageable thanks to the short distance. For travelers on a budget who still want a reliable, well-located, and character-filled stay, Hotel Sixty3 is an excellent choice. It’s convenient, authentic, and delivers great value. One thing that truly touched me: I accidentally left my wallet behind. Only after reaching the airport did I realize it was missing.
