Located right in the heart of Xi'an, it’s just a short walk from Bell and Drum Tower, the Muslim Quarter, and all the hidden gems around town—perfect for exploring on foot. The staff, especially our host Star, were incredibly warm and welcoming; they even gave us a little gift when checking out—such a thoughtful touch! Every evening, there’s a complimentary sweet soup served as part of the “goodnight” ritual, and the afternoon tea buffet is a lovely treat. Water bottles are available on every floor with no limits—super convenient. I also appreciated the 6th-floor laundry room, which comes equipped with detergent so you don’t have to bring your own. The room layout is fantastic: spacious, well-designed, and features a full-length mirror that makes getting ready a breeze. Everything about this place feels thoughtfully put together. I lived here in the 70s and early 80s, and every time I passed by that iconic main building (now part of Sofitel Legend), it brought back so many memories. This recent four-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic. On sunny days, I loved walking around the quiet courtyard—it’s peaceful and full of charm. The staff were incredibly attentive: someone guided me to park, and others helped with luggage without being asked. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with great variety. Just steps away is Xincheng Square—perfect for a morning stroll among the friendly pigeons. In about 15 minutes on foot, you can reach Muslim Quarter (Beiyuanmen) and even walk straight to Bell Tower. There’s also a small museum inside the Sofitel Legend building that shares the rich history of the original Renmin Building, including photos of famous visitors over the years. It’s like staying in a living piece of history. With its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and unique heritage vibe, this hotel offers amazing value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Xi'an.

The room view? Stunning—direct sightlines to the historic city wall and train station, which added a special charm to our stay. Special shoutout to Mr. Wei Xinglong from the concierge team—he went above and beyond helping with luggage and package collection, always cheerful and efficient. The front desk staff, Xiao Hao and Xiao Liu, were warm, professional, and attentive. When we mentioned the room felt a bit warm on our first night, they immediately upgraded us to a larger suite at no extra cost—a truly unexpected and thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more memorable.
