Staying at this Hilton was a refreshing change—seriously, the quiet atmosphere is perfect if you're sensitive to noise or have trouble sleeping. The rooftop infinity pool and fitness center on the 9th floor are fantastic, with great views and a relaxing vibe. The on-site Western restaurant offers solid meals, and it’s convenient for a quick bite without leaving the property. Just steps from the back entrance lies Metropolitano Mall—packed with diverse dining options including an Australian restaurant, several Japanese eateries, small cafes, massage parlors, and even a cinema. It's super walkable and adds great convenience to your stay. Beach access is just a 10-minute drive away, and getting to Sugarloaf Mountain (about 28 km) is easy via Uber—no hassle at all. Despite being near the airport (visible from the pool area), the hotel manages to feel secluded and peaceful. Overall, it's a smart choice for travelers who want comfort, quiet, and urban accessibility all in one.

Staying at Bella Ciao Hostel in Rio de Janeiro was one of the most memorable experiences I've had on my trip. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the metro and super close to everything worth seeing. The hostel offers incredible value for money, with clean, cozy rooms and a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The common lounge is perfect for working during the day or hanging out in the evening with board games, movies, and great conversations. The staff and regular guests are genuinely warm and friendly—they go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time in the neighborhood and the city. Special shoutout to Saulo, the owner—he’s incredibly kind, always available, and truly cares about everyone’s well-being. It’s clear he runs this place with heart. I left feeling like I’d made new friends and discovered a hidden gem. Definitely coming back, and I’ll be bringing my travel buddies next time.

Staying at Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro was an absolute delight—especially since we celebrated my husband's birthday there. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome with a complimentary champagne toast set the tone for a memorable experience. Our ocean-view room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the sea. The breakfast buffet was outstanding—fresh, diverse, and delicious, with both local Brazilian flavors and international favorites. The staff went above and beyond, showing genuine care and attention throughout our stay. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the personalized birthday greeting to the seamless service. It’s rare to find such luxury combined with warmth and authenticity. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again—this hotel truly delivers on every level.
Casa Verde Río
A true sanctuary of peace and nature! We spent three wonderful weeks in Rio de Janeiro with our family, and were warmly welcomed by Mauricio and Stuart at Casa Verde. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, offering breathtaking views—morning ocean vistas and afternoon glimpses into the lush forest. Breakfast was delicious and the travel tips and guided tours they shared were incredibly helpful in planning our trip. Mauricio and Stuart are genuinely kind, welcoming hosts who love connecting with guests. Their hospitality made our stay in Rio even more memorable. Thank you for such a special experience in this beautiful country—we’ll definitely be back!
Corinto Hotel
We booked the Corinto suite at this hotel, and it was a complete disappointment. The place was filthy—especially the hot tub, which was supposed to be the highlight of the room, but instead was dirty and unhygienic. Even though we didn’t use it for obvious reasons, there was a ridiculous leak in the room that left the floor completely soaked. We ended up having to use our face towels just to dry off. The blanket was full of holes and clearly made from very poor-quality materials. The sauna bench was greasy and stained, and honestly, we didn’t even try using it. To make matters worse, none of the hotel’s pools were operational. Overall, it was a frustrating stay with no redeeming qualities. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone.
Gavea Tropical Boutique Hotel
Our stay at Gavea Tropical Boutique Hotel was a major letdown, especially considering we booked it for our first-year anniversary. The promised romantic touches—rose petals scattered on the bed and in the room—were completely missing upon arrival. When we asked the front desk staff, they said they’d place them only after we left for dinner. I asked, 'What if we don’t go out?' and got the reply, 'We’ll still put them.' We spent two hours away enjoying the jacuzzi, but returned to find nothing. The surprise we were promised turned into an empty promise. The complimentary wine offered in the package was just sitting in the fridge—no presentation, no style. When we asked about it, the staff responded with, 'You can pick any of the two!' (Seriously?) Then came the detox juice: advertised as a full pitcher, but at 11 PM we had to message via WhatsApp asking where it was. They admitted they forgot it, then brought two tiny cups—no sugar, nearly undrinkable. We left it there. The view was another disappointment: the brochure promised views of Christ statue and Lagoa, but all we saw was trees. After complaining multiple times, we were moved to a different room. Bathroom water was warm at night, but next morning it was freezing—hot water had run out. The pool water was cloudy and unusable. Breakfast was terrible: milk was gone, cheese wasn’t available, only ham and one odd-shaped bread. No salted bread. Just a few drops of juice in the cooler. Cups and mugs had to be requested, no cutlery. A couple nearby ordered eggs, and the kitchen staff said they were out. Nescau had barely a spoonful left in the jar, and the only dessert was a small orange cake with zero options. We were told an employee had gone to buy cheese, bread, and condiments—but never returned. We waited over an hour. Overall, this experience fell far short of expectations. The service was inconsistent, details were ignored, and the promises made during booking were not kept. It’s hard to recommend this hotel, especially for special occasions.

This is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to stay in Rio de Janeiro. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and impeccably tidy—felt like home from the moment we walked in. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. What really stands out is how close it is to the beach—just a short walk or quick metro ride away, making it super easy to enjoy the seaside vibe anytime. I was impressed by how well-priced this place is for the quality offered. If you're after a comfortable, convenient, and affordable stay in Rio, I highly recommend giving this property a try. It’s definitely one of the best value options I’ve found during my trip.
