That said, this place offers the best value for money. The outdoor pool is perfect for relaxing under the alpine sky, and the hillside is home to a small flock of sheep and beehives. I actually tried calling out to the sheep and got a surprisingly fierce response—hilarious! The grassy area right in front of the hotel is ideal for reading, sipping beer, or just soaking up the sun. However, there are several restaurants within walking distance, and we tried one nearby (just a 5-minute walk) that served authentic local cuisine—absolutely delicious, though I can’t recall the name now. One thing to note: many places in Salzburg, including this one, operate on cash-only basis, which was common during our trip through the region, including Berchtesgaden. Overall, this place offers a genuine, homely feel with excellent value. If we ever return to Salzburg, we’d definitely choose to stay here again.
