Staying at Qingdao Ethos Hotel was a delightful surprise. I didn’t get a chance to take photos of the room, but I booked the bathtub king room—definitely bigger than a standard king, perfect if you value extra space. The cleanliness was outstanding, and I really liked the subtle, fresh scent of the shampoo. Breakfast was average but slightly better than what I’ve had at other budget chains like Full Season or Orange Hotel. One thing worth noting: there are only two bathtub king rooms on the floor, so if you book two rooms, they’re placed at opposite ends—can’t be adjacent. That said, it’s not a dealbreaker. For solo travelers, the bathtub king might feel a bit oversized; the standard king is probably more practical. Location-wise, it’s just a short walk from Taodong Pedestrian Street—convenient yet peaceful, ideal for those who want both access and quiet. The staff were friendly and welcoming, mostly young and energetic, with quite a few Korean guests around. Overall, a very pleasant stay with great value and a warm vibe.

The location of this hotel is excellent—right near the subway station, making it super convenient to get around Qingdao. Right outside the door, there are shared e-bikes, so exploring nearby streets, night markets, and shopping areas was effortless. Everything is just steps away. Atour Hotel, Taitung Beer Street, Qingdao

I’ve always loved the Atour brand, and this stay in Qingdao was no exception! My wife and I visited Zhan Shan Temple, just a 3-kilometer walk—about 30 minutes through peaceful streets with great views. The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient: right across from Taitung Eight Road, which is the famous night market street. You can enjoy local snacks and explore without even stepping outside. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the large TV with surround sound made for a fantastic movie experience. Hot water worked perfectly, and the bath amenities were high-quality and pleasant to use. Breakfast was generous and delicious—great variety and excellent taste. Most memorable was the friendly service at reception; they even gave us a small gift when we checked out. It’s these little touches that make a big difference. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Qingdao!
