Everything you need to know about Anyanghe Park

Asia Hotel Harbin, located just 800 meters from An Yang River Garden, is a top choice for visitors seeking convenience and comfort. The hotel offers modern rooms, 24-hour front desk service, and free parking—ideal for self-drive travelers. Its proximity to Zhongshan Street and Saint Sophia Cathedral makes it easy to explore Harbin’s historic Russian-influenced architecture.

The surrounding area features authentic local cuisine, including Madi'er Ice Cream and Lao Dingfeng Pastries, perfect for sampling regional flavors. An Yang River Garden itself is a serene urban green space with lakes, walking paths, and pavilions, ideal for morning strolls or evening relaxation. During summer, the park hosts light shows and cultural exhibitions, adding to its charm.

HopeGoo in advance is strongly recommended, especially during the Winter Ice Festival when demand spikes. Staying here ensures seamless access to both nature and city highlights.

The most convenient way to reach An Yang River Garden is via Harbin Metro Line 1, exiting at Nangang Station, which leads directly to the west gate of the park—just a 5-minute walk. Alternatively, take buses No. 113, 115, or 207, and alight at "Nangang Street Intersection" or "An Yang River Garden Stop," then walk 3 minutes to the entrance.

The garden is also close to major attractions like Zhongshan Street and Saint Sophia Cathedral, making it ideal for a full-day itinerary: visit the garden in the morning, stroll through Central Street for Russian-style pastries in the afternoon, and enjoy the cathedral’s illuminated night view in the evening—all within a compact, efficient travel loop.

Foreign visitors will appreciate the bilingual signage at metro stations and clear route information. Note that some pathways may be icy in winter; wear non-slip shoes and check weather forecasts before heading out.

An Yang River Garden stands out for its harmonious blend of natural beauty and cultural storytelling. The artificial lake landscape changes with the seasons—willow fluff in spring, blooming lotuses in summer, crimson foliage in autumn, and frozen glass-like surfaces in winter, creating ever-changing photo backdrops.

Scattered throughout the park are themed sculpture groups inspired by historical figures from the Heilongjiang River Basin, reflecting the region’s rich heritage. On weekends, the garden hosts outdoor concerts and intangible cultural heritage performances, including paper-cutting, shadow puppetry, and Manchu dance, offering immersive local experiences.

A dedicated children’s interactive eco-zone combines education with fun, featuring wildlife exhibits and hands-on games—perfect for family visits. The park is also a favorite among locals for morning tai chi sessions and evening jogging, enhanced by illuminated pathway installations that create a romantic ambiance after dark.

During the Harbin International Ice Festival, the garden features a small-scale ice sculpture exhibition—smaller than Sun Island but more accessible and integrated into daily life—ideal for quick photo stops. Super 8 Hotel (Harbin Central Street)

I was hesitant at first—online reviews were all over the place, especially with kids in tow—but after checking the location, it turned out to be incredibly convenient. Just a short walk from Central Street, the subway station, the airport shuttle stop, Red Brick Lane, and St. Sophia Cathedral. Perfect for families who want to explore without too much walking. The room isn’t big, but honestly, we’re always out during the day and just need a good night’s sleep when we get back. The bed was comfortable, and cleanliness was spot-on. Despite its compact size, the hotel delivers great value for money. Super easy access, quiet neighborhood, and friendly staff made our stay stress-free. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

Daoxiang International Youth Hostel(Harbin Central Avenue)

This youth hostel is an absolute gem! The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel more like a home away from home. The staff go above and beyond—friendly, helpful, and genuinely warm, always ready to chat or share tips. Since most guests are travelers, the atmosphere is super social and welcoming, especially during New Year’s Eve, which we celebrated together in a lively, memorable way. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from Hongzhuan Morning Market, so breakfast every morning feels like a local experience. Public transport access to Central Avenue is convenient too. One small suggestion: upgrading the dorm beds to a capsule-style design could enhance privacy and overall comfort. Still, this place delivers great value and a truly authentic travel vibe!

Rezen Dong Hotel (Control Memorial Tower Central Street Branch)

Staying at Rezen Dong Hotel was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The front desk reached out in advance via WeChat to confirm our check-in time and shared the hotel location along with helpful tips—so convenient! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a small welcome gift and found a cozy bedtime milk waiting in the room—such a thoughtful touch. The room itself was spacious, comfortably furnished, and the heating system worked perfectly, making it warm and inviting throughout our stay. Due to schedule changes, we requested a late checkout, which the staff happily accommodated without any hassle. Even when checking out, we received a cute Harbin fridge magnet as a keepsake—a sweet little memento. The hotel’s excellent service, attention to detail, and prime location near Central Street and the Flood Prevention Memorial Tower made this stay truly special. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Harbin—this is definitely a top choice!

Harbin Sun Island Hotel

We originally booked Friendship Palace for our trip to Harbin during the May Day holiday, but due to the strong smell from recent renovations, we had to switch last minute—luckily, only one room was left at Sun Island Hotel. What a lucky coincidence! The hotel is actually located within a large, serene park, offering a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. The rooms are quiet, with clean air and excellent sound insulation—perfect for a good night’s sleep. Best of all, it's just a short walk to Sun Island Scenic Area and Polar Park, so we didn’t need to rely on transportation. Everything was convenient, well-maintained, and beautifully situated. Our stay exceeded expectations—this place truly delivers comfort, location, and value. I’d definitely come back.

Home Inn Harbin China Baroque Antarctic Street

Staying at Home Inn Harbin China Baroque Antarctic Street was an absolute delight! The room was spotless and well-maintained, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, especially the owner and front desk team, were incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked two different rooms, but they kindly arranged them to be adjacent—no need to switch rooms at all, which made our stay much more convenient. Even better, they gave us a little gift when we checked out—though I forgot to take a photo, it was such a sweet touch! The location is excellent, just steps away from the subway station, making it super easy to explore downtown Harbin. Homeinn Plus(Harbin Central Street Sophia Cathedral)

Had an amazing time exploring Harbin! Though I skipped Snow Village (worried about slipping and getting hurt), the view from Songhua River Cable Car was breathtaking. The tiger exhibit at Hulin Park was adorable, and the Arctic Ocean Museum’s six galleries were absolutely satisfying. Visiting the 731 Memorial was deeply emotional, while the Harbin Institute of Technology Aerospace Museum left me in awe with its grandeur. Morning markets like Hongzhan Street and Anjing Street offered a real taste of local culture. The hotel itself was excellent—clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located. Breakfast was a great value, and staff were attentive and friendly. One minor disappointment was at the Ice and Snow World: when I asked if I could pay extra to ride the ice slide, they simply said I could leave and re-enter. That felt more like a loophole than a solution—really disappointing, though not the hotel’s fault. Overall, Harbin is a stunning, icy, yet vibrant city full of charm. I’d definitely come back—and stay here again without hesitation.
