Goulielmos Hotel & Spa

This hotel deserves every bit of praise—truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home. The housekeeping team, front desk, and restaurant staff were all incredibly warm and attentive. We even received a complimentary welcome glass of wine and fresh fruit upon check-in—something you rarely get in Europe, where even water or toilet use often comes with a fee. What stood out most was how many amenities were free here, making it an incredible value. The dining experience? Absolutely outstanding. The food was far better than anything we tried at local restaurants near tourist spots, yet priced reasonably. And while it’s not located right in the heart of Fira, the view from our room was breathtaking—every photo was taken from the hotel terrace, capturing stunning sunsets and sea views. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. Plus, we walked down to the nearby black sand beach for a refreshing swim. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. I’d come back in a heartbeat—and definitely bring my kids next time.

Santorini Kastelli Resort

Staying at Santorini Kastelli Resort in Kamari was a fantastic experience. The hotel is perfectly located—just a short walk from the beach, local cafes, restaurants, and lively bars. With four swimming pools, including a main one right next to the restaurant and bar, there’s plenty of space to relax. The pool opens at 9:30 AM, but early swimmers may be asked to move as guests are having breakfast—so it’s best to wait a bit later. Breakfast was excellent—a generous buffet with a great variety of fresh options. I stayed in a pool-access room located in a quiet, separate area. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, though the bed was firm—perfect for those who prefer a supportive sleep. Overall, the location, amenities, and service made this stay unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Santorini.

Carpe Diem Santorini

My wife and I finally had the chance to enjoy a child-free holiday for the first time in 12 years, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to make it special. From the moment we arrived at Carpe Diem Santorini, we felt an immediate sense of exclusivity and tranquility. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a welcome drink while our stay was arranged—perfect timing since we arrived early. We had about an hour to spare before our room was ready, so we grabbed a light lunch at the hotel’s restaurant. The beef patties and meze platter were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. When we finally made our way to our suite, wow—it was absolutely stunning. Spacious, immaculately clean, and wonderfully private, it felt like our own little retreat. For dinner, we headed to Santio Wines—a short taxi ride away (around €20), but totally worth it. The sunset views were breathtaking, and the food was exceptional. Book ahead—this place fills up fast. If you want front-row seating, expect to spend €50 per person, but trust me, the experience is unforgettable. Breakfast the next morning was an absolute highlight—go all in! There’s always an egg dish, fresh salad, seasonal fruit, a rich dessert, and a savory filo pie. Help yourself as much or as little as you like—everything was delicious. Our server, Mary, was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind—her presence made the stay even more memorable. After breakfast, we explored Pyrgos village. The walk up to the church is steep, especially the initial stretch, so those with mobility issues may find it challenging to leave the property. Still, Pyrgos is charming with plenty of cozy restaurants around the main square. In the afternoon, we joined a semi-private Caldera Gold Sunset Cruise—€200 per person is pricey, but the experience justifies every euro. The catamaran holds only 16 guests, so space is ample, the crew is professional, and the views during sunset are nothing short of spectacular. Later, we visited Perivolos Beach (€30 each way, €70 for two sunbeds). From the boat, we could see why it’s one of the best—the amenities, variety of dining options, and calm waters made it perfect for swimming. On our last evening, we indulged in the degustation menu (€140 per person)—the chef’s signature tasting menu. Every course was a work of art, perfectly balanced and beautifully served. Our waiter, Able, was thoughtful and engaging, explaining each dish with care. We also enjoyed a private yoga session on our terrace and individual spa treatments—both highly recommended. Our final day was spent shopping in Fira (€30 each way), where we found great boutiques and jewelers. Don’t miss the high-altitude cafés—they offer some of the best views and coffee on the island. Our flight wasn’t until 10:00 PM, so we arranged a late check-out until 8:00 PM (€400 extra). It wasn’t cheap, but being able to linger a bit longer after such a magical trip made it worthwhile. This hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience you’ll remember forever.
