To my surprise, she upgraded my room and even left fresh fruit upon arrival. When I mentioned I’d be traveling with a child, she proactively arranged kid-friendly amenities, and the room came equipped with a mini-bar—thoughtful touches that really stood out. As a long-standing five-star property, the service level is consistently excellent. The location is unbeatable—right next to Wulin Night Market, and just a 10-minute walk to West Lake. On days when traffic restrictions made taxis hard to find, walking became the easiest option. Breakfast was generous in both variety and quality. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations. I’d recommend asking the front desk specifically for a room with floor-to-ceiling windows since some of the bay windows tend to let in drafts, making it chilly at night. The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk from shopping malls and only about 10 minutes by taxi to West Lake. That said, the breakfast area is quite small and gets packed early; we couldn’t find a seat even though we arrived around 8 AM. Food options were average too—nothing special. We ended up eating outside instead, which turned out to be a better choice. Despite that, the overall experience was great. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and good value for money. Definitely worth considering for a family visit to Hangzhou.
