Located just minutes from the city center, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring Auckland on foot or by public transit. I also took advantage of the platform-exclusive New Zealand data and calling package—7GB of data and 30 minutes of calls over 7 days—which came in handy for staying connected with family and navigating the city. It added real value to my trip. Everything about this stay exceeded expectations. If I ever return to Auckland, this will be my first choice again.

The Park Hyatt Auckland truly lives up to its reputation—exquisite service, elegant design, and a prime location just steps from downtown Auckland. I was upgraded to a sea-view room, which sounded promising, but the actual view was underwhelming. The room is slightly low in ceiling height, and the windows are only covered with sheer curtains, so the ocean view is quite limited—definitely not what I expected. That said, the overall experience was exceptional. From the luxurious amenities to the thoughtful touches throughout the property, every detail reflects Hyatt’s high standards. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the rooftop bar offers stunning city views at sunset. Despite the slight disappointment with the room upgrade, I’d still highly recommend this hotel for its charm, comfort, and unbeatable location.

I booked this stay through a huge promotion on Ctrip—what an incredible value for a five-star hotel! I have to give a real shoutout to Ctrip for making such great deals possible. The price-to-quality ratio was outstanding, and it felt like getting luxury without the luxury price tag. While downtown Auckland can be a bit chaotic, the hotel itself offered a strong sense of safety and comfort that really made a difference. From check-in, a staff member immediately helped carry my luggage to the room—so thoughtful! The front desk team was incredibly warm and helpful; when I had a late flight, they kindly allowed me to check out two hours later, even offering advice to use the on-site gym to freshen up before leaving. Cleanliness was excellent overall—especially the fitness center, which was spotless and professionally cleaned every evening around 10 PM. The only downside? On my last day, I found a large cockroach in the tea cabinet. As someone who’s extremely sensitive to bugs, this was genuinely alarming. Definitely recommend improving pest control measures. Despite that minor issue, I’d absolutely choose SO/Auckland again on my next trip to Auckland—this place truly stands out.

Staying at The Grand by SkyCity for the second time was just as great as the first! The hotel is only a 3-minute walk from the airport shuttle stop, making travel to and from the airport incredibly convenient—whether you're arriving or departing. While I opted for the platform's airport transfer service on my return trip, the location still makes everything so much easier. One of the highlights? The trendy little restaurant Tetop right downstairs—absolutely delicious, consistently good, and perfect for a quick bite without having to leave the building. The room was spotless, with excellent cleanliness throughout, fresh linens, and a comfortable bed that made for a restful night. Everything about this stay felt seamless: location, food, hygiene, and service. I’d definitely book here again next time I’m in Auckland—and I’ll be recommending it to friends.

Dave and Barb went above and beyond with their hospitality and attention to detail, making us feel truly welcomed. The highlight? Visiting the glow worms after dark—nothing short of magical. The quiet forest, the soft bioluminescent lights, the stillness—it was an experience we’ll never forget. We left feeling completely refreshed, inspired, and deeply grateful for this unforgettable getaway.

The bathroom tiles are non-slip, which made me feel safe walking around barefoot. I especially appreciated having a fridge—since I love drinking fresh New Zealand milk, I could easily store any leftover without worrying about it spoiling. One small issue: the curtains don’t close tightly, so sunlight streams in as early as 6 AM. That’s around 1 AM Beijing time, when most night owls are just settling into sleep—being woken up by bright light is definitely disruptive. It would be great if the hotel could improve the blackout quality of the curtains. Overall, this place earns a solid 9 out of 10. Great value, excellent comfort, and a really welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend for travelers who appreciate attention to detail.
