Special thanks to Manager Wang and Housekeeper Xie for their thoughtful touches and prompt responses to any request. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the room had excellent soundproofing, making for a peaceful night’s sleep. The only minor drawback was the door lock—it felt outdated and didn’t match the hotel’s overall quality. A quick upgrade would make this already fantastic stay perfect. The breakfast was excellent, fresh, and satisfying. The location is unbeatable: just a two-minute walk to the subway, right across from Xuanwu Lake. Perfect for morning strolls or just soaking in the scenery. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive—truly made the stay special. If I’m back for another show at Taiyang Palace, this will be my first choice again. A great balance of comfort, convenience, and value.

The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the city yet surprisingly peaceful. Stepping outside, you're greeted by the towering ancient city wall, which is truly breathtaking. What surprised me most was how easy parking was—both inside the courtyard and beneath the wall. Perfect for travelers driving their own car. I originally booked a deluxe king room, but the friendly front desk staff upgraded me to a spacious suite with no hesitation. The room was immaculate, clean, and very comfortable. Huge thanks to the two front desk attendants—they were professional, attentive, and always ready to help. Their recommendations for local attractions and must-try snacks were spot-on and incredibly useful. My travel companions were genuinely amazed that such a comfortable and convenient hotel exists in Nanjing. Definitely coming back here on my next visit.

Shangri-La Nanjing

Every time I visit Nanjing, I make sure to stay at Shangri-La—it’s simply my go-to. This trip was for a friend’s birthday, and we took the chance to explore the stunning maple leaves at Qixia Mountain, golden ginkgo trees by Xuanwu Lake, Yanyue Lake, Stone Elephant Road, and the famous plane tree avenue. Perfect timing, perfect weather, and perfect vibes! The room arranged by Manager Dong was exceptional—comfortable, elegant, and thoughtfully prepared. Dining at Jiangnan Zao was a highlight: the ingredients were fresh and top-notch. The pickled turnip with preserved vegetables was surprisingly delicious, the fish head incredibly fresh, and the sweet-and-sour ribs? Absolutely unforgettable. My friend devoured the stir-fried beef in no time—proof it was a hit! Bonus: guests staying at the hotel can enjoy complimentary room service from Jiangnan Zao—even if you’re not on the waitlist. Plus, the Christmas decorations were beautifully done, adding a magical touch to the entire stay. Honestly, I’m already planning my next visit—Shangri-La truly wins my heart every time.

The Westin Nanjing Xuanwu Lake

Staying at The Westin Nanjing Xuanwu Lake was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel truly lives up to its luxury reputation, with impeccable service throughout. I was especially grateful when they arranged a late checkout without any hassle—such a thoughtful touch. The restaurant on the 23rd floor offers breathtaking views of the lake and city skyline, making every meal feel like a special occasion. Every staff member I encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. A special shoutout to customer service manager Yuki (Li), who checked in with us from booking to check-out, ensuring everything went smoothly. Her dedication made a lasting impression. This is more than just a place to stay—it’s a memorable retreat that I’d happily return to again and again.
