Walk about 10 minutes west along 42nd Street from the Chrysler Building, passing through Broadway for a vibrant urban experience. This route is fast, cost-effective, and offers a genuine New York City transit feel—perfect for visitors eager to explore Manhattan’s most iconic district.

Visit the Chrysler Building’s observation deck for an exclusive view of its iconic bronze spire and intricate Art Deco details. Nearby, enjoy world-class performances at Madison Square Garden or catch a Broadway show in the heart of the Theatre District. For photographers, the intersection of 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue offers stunning evening shots with the building illuminated against the Manhattan skyline—a must-see moment for capturing the essence of New York City’s architectural grandeur.

Extremely convenient—the Chrysler Building sits in midtown Manhattan, adjacent to major subway lines including the 42nd Street–Bryant Park Station (serving N, Q, R, W trains) and 42nd Street–Port Authority Bus Terminal (A, C, E, M lines). You can reach Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or Brooklyn Bridge within 15 minutes. Ride-hailing, bike-sharing stations, and contactless payment options like MTA GoPass and Apple Pay further enhance mobility, making it effortless to navigate Manhattan’s core areas.

Stay at The Chrysler Building Hotel, a boutique property located within the iconic Art Deco skyscraper. Enjoy unparalleled views of the Chrysler Building's distinctive crown from your room, combined with prime access to Midtown Manhattan's cultural and business hub. The hotel offers luxury amenities and impeccable service, just a 5-minute walk from Broadway theaters and the United Nations Headquarters. Near the Chrysler Building, explore Madison Square Garden and Fifth Avenue shopping district, both within a 10-minute walk. Don’t miss the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue, just 300 meters away—a must-visit for literature lovers. For panoramic city views, photograph the building’s iconic copper-clad spire from street level, even if the observation deck isn’t open to the public. The Chrysler Building showcases defining Art Deco architecture with its striking copper-crested spire. Its façade features cast iron and glass elements, adorned with intricate geometric motifs and metallic details that reflect early 20th-century industrial elegance. The 20 triangular copper panels forming a star-shaped crown once made it the world’s tallest building (1930) and remain a signature of New York’s skyline. Inside, the grand lobby retains marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and sculptural ornamentation, creating a luxurious and dignified atmosphere. These elements not only highlight pioneering engineering but also cement the building as a global architectural landmark, drawing architects, historians, and photographers alike.

Try The Clocktower Restaurant inside the Chrysler Building, known for its elevated views and contemporary American cuisine, featuring fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients. Another excellent option is Café des Artistes, near Fifth Avenue, offering classic French dishes in an elegant setting—perfect for afternoon tea or a refined lunch. For a casual bite, visit Lucky's Bagel & Coffee, just a 7-minute walk away, famed for its artisanal bagels and expertly brewed coffee, a favorite among local professionals. All are located in midtown Manhattan’s prime dining district, ensuring easy access and diverse culinary experiences.

The Chrysler Building is not open to the public for general tours as it primarily serves as an office tower. However, visitors can admire its exterior, especially during sunrise or sunset when the copper spire glows dramatically under natural light. Some guided tours include exterior viewing and architectural insights, allowing guests to learn about its history and design without entering. For deeper exploration, consider joining NYC Architecture Tours, which often feature detailed commentary on the building’s Art Deco legacy and engineering innovation—ideal for enthusiasts seeking authentic behind-the-scenes knowledge.

The Algonquin Hotel Times Square, Autograph Collection

Staying at The Algonquin Hotel Times Square was an absolute delight. It’s a small, intimate hotel with a unique charm and elegant details that make it stand out. The staff went above and beyond with their friendly and attentive service—always smiling, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The location is unbeatable: perfectly situated between Times Square and Fifth Avenue, making it easy to explore shopping, dining, and entertainment right outside the door. I loved how walkable everything was, and the convenience of being just steps from subway access. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a true NYC experience. Moxy NYC Times Square

Staying at Moxy NYC Times Square was a great experience overall. The rooms are definitely compact—smaller than a closet, which is pretty typical for Manhattan—but that’s just part of the New York reality. What stood out most was how fantastic the whole hotel smelled; it had a fresh, inviting ambiance right from the lobby. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything. One thing to avoid: the Margarita package offered through the platform felt unnecessary and overpriced—definitely not worth it. Also noticed the elevator touchscreens didn’t respond properly when touched, but that was a minor glitch. Despite those small issues, the location, vibe, and service made up for it. I’d absolutely stay here again if I’m back in NYC.

The towering skyscrapers and iconic smokestacks lining the streets give the whole area a unique, energetic vibe. Despite the pricey surroundings, this hotel offers great value and comfort. The Box House Hotel

The Box House Hotel exceeded my expectations in nearly every way—except for the front desk staff, who could have been a bit more welcoming. Everything else was top-notch. The location is fantastic: just a short subway ride from downtown Manhattan, with plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. My room was clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with modern touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the air felt fresh and crisp throughout the stay. I especially appreciated the well-lit bathroom with strong shower pressure and smart storage solutions. Even though the check-in experience wasn’t as warm as I’d hoped, the overall quality of the hotel, the attention to detail, and the value for money made up for it completely. I’d definitely book here again when visiting New York.

The location is perfect—just steps away from the subway station, making travel around Manhattan super convenient. Whether you’re heading out for dinner, shopping, or catching a show, everything is within easy walking distance. Franklin Guesthouse

Staying at Franklin Guesthouse was an absolute delight! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the option to check in early (for a small fee), which made our arrival so much smoother. The room was spotlessly clean, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet—perfect for a relaxing getaway. What really stood out was how convenient the location is: just steps away from a cozy corner market where we picked up snacks and essentials. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including public transit that made exploring New York City a breeze. Honestly, I’d have given every category a perfect 5-star rating if it weren’t for the app glitching and automatically unchecking my selections. Despite that minor frustration, this place exceeded my expectations—great value, warm atmosphere, and a homey feel. Definitely planning to return.

Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square West

Staying at the Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square West was an absolute highlight of my trip! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly—despite booking through a third-party platform, I still received all the Hilton Honors benefits including a room upgrade, bonus points, and complimentary drinks and snacks. That’s seriously impressive value. The hotel is perfectly located on a bustling street full of other hotels, just steps away from the main action in Times Square. Even late at night (after 10 PM), there were plenty of people around, and while I did see some unhoused individuals during the day, I never saw anything concerning—no scary encounters or safety issues. Overall, it felt secure and well-connected. One small note: there’s a nearby spice shop downstairs with strong aromas, but honestly, you get used to the bold flavors everywhere in NYC. It didn’t affect my stay at all. If you’re visiting New York, this hotel is definitely worth considering for its great location, excellent service, and fantastic perks.
