My stay at Yeoksam Cullinan was disappointing overall. The room wasn’t clean—there were visible stains on the sheets and surfaces, and it felt like basic hygiene standards weren’t met. Noise was a major issue too; I could hear conversations and movements from neighboring rooms, especially during the night, which made it hard to sleep. The light switches were also broken—some didn’t work at all, and others required excessive pressure to turn on. For the price we paid, this experience fell far short of expectations. Considering the cost, the value simply wasn’t there. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, and well-maintained stay, I’d recommend exploring other options.
Hotel the Designers Dongdaemun
Staying at Hotel the Designers Dongdaemun was an absolute highlight of my trip to Seoul! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, with countless restaurants and shops just a short walk away. I could easily reach major attractions like Myeongdong and Dongdaemun Market without needing any transit. Despite being central, the area feels surprisingly quiet and peaceful, making it easy to unwind after a busy day. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities—air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi all worked perfectly. The bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The only minor downside was the window’s soundproofing; on rare occasions, I could hear some street noise, but it didn’t really disturb me. What truly stood out was the staff—friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful. They made check-in smooth and even gave great local tips that enhanced my experience. Overall, the price felt very fair considering the prime location, quality of service, and comfort. If I ever return to Seoul, this hotel will definitely be my first choice.

The Riverside Hotel is incredibly convenient, located just a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Sangam Station. If you're coming from the airport, taking the bus to Sangam Station and walking back toward the hotel is super easy. The location is perfect for exploring Seoul—everything is within reach. I loved waking up to views of the Han River from my room; it's peaceful and scenic. The breakfast was satisfying and well-balanced. One thing I noticed right outside the station exit is a popular grilled meat restaurant that’s always packed—definitely worth trying if you’re craving something tasty. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, this place offers great value and a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Seoul.
Ddp Stn Avenue
The hotel is excellent overall—great location, super convenient for getting around Seoul, and the staff are very friendly. My only confusion was that I booked a two-night stay, but I had to check out on the second day and couldn’t recheck in until after 6 PM. That timing restriction felt a bit odd and wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Still, the team handled it well, and even though I had to move my luggage, it didn’t ruin the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the value for money was strong. Definitely would stay here again.

Checked in late at night, but the front desk staff were still very attentive and made the process super smooth. The team was friendly and even upgraded our room without any hassle—definitely a pleasant surprise. While it has a motel-like vibe with its compact layout, the attention to detail, cleanliness, and service quality make it feel much more premium. Just a 1-minute walk from Exit 8 of Dongdaemun History & Cultural Park, this hotel is perfect for shopping and exploring the area. The place was incredibly clean and well-maintained, giving a very welcoming vibe. The bathtub was spacious and so relaxing—perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Seoul. Great value and comfort in one!

For travelers seeking comfort, privacy, and a refined atmosphere, this is a truly rewarding choice. The value for money is excellent, especially if you're looking for a serene escape without sacrificing luxury.

The atmosphere throughout the hostel is warm and welcoming, especially on the 5th floor where breakfast is served with soft background music. The heating system works well during winter, keeping the rooms cozy and comfortable. While there are no disposable toiletries (like toothbrushes), they do provide towels, which is thoughtful. Be aware that there’s no elevator—so if you’re not up for climbing stairs, request a lower-floor room. Noise levels are decent; even though soundproofing isn’t perfect, there’s minimal disturbance at night. One of my favorite moments? Sipping coffee on the 5th floor during a snowfall, listening to music, chatting with friends, and watching the city turn white—it felt like a scene from a movie. The front desk staff speaks excellent English, but service hours are limited to 8 AM–10 PM. For other times, you’ll need to use alternative communication methods. Overall, this place offers great value, friendly vibes, and a unique charm. A solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in central Seoul.

I’ve stayed at many guesthouses in Seoul, but this one truly stood out. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive—always going the extra mile with genuine care. Yes, there’s no elevator, so you’ll need to carry your luggage up a few flights, but the building isn’t too high, and they’re more than willing to help with your bags. The room is small, but spotlessly clean and well-maintained—no dust, no odors, just a fresh, cozy feel. The bed was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. It’s located just steps from the subway, making it super convenient for exploring the city. For the price, the value is outstanding.
