Platinum wan'ao Victory Hotel
Our 8-day self-drive trip across Shaanxi ended with a stay at Platinum Wan'ao Victory Hotel in Xi'an, and overall, it was an excellent choice. The location is incredibly convenient—right across from Hepingmen Metro Station, just a 50-meter walk away, making public transit access seamless for exploring the city. The hotel faces the ancient city wall directly, and it’s only about a 1.7-kilometer stroll to Yongning Gate if you want to walk along the wall—a pleasant way to enjoy the historic surroundings. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a larger room, which made a big difference: spacious enough to comfortably unpack and move around, and ideal for family travel. Cleanliness was spot-on, meeting standard expectations without any issues. One minor drawback is the parking situation—being a multi-level garage, it’s not the most user-friendly, especially for larger vehicles, though my compact car navigated it easily. Breakfast was decent but not particularly impressive by luxury hotel standards—nothing overly elaborate, and we didn’t receive a third breakfast for our parents, which was slightly disappointing since this was one of only two hotels on the entire trip that didn’t offer it. Still, considering the excellent location, helpful staff, room comfort, and overall value, it’s hard not to give high praise. For travelers prioritizing convenience and a solid base in central Xi’an, this hotel is a strong recommendation.

Location-wise, it’s absolutely perfect—just steps from the old town, with easy access to the ancient city wall and the bustling Muslim Quarter. Walking to local street food spots is a breeze, and the metro station right outside means commuting to work is fast and hassle-free without needing a taxi. I especially loved the ground-floor coffee—it’s way better than any takeaway I’ve had lately. There’s also a great selection of authentic local eats nearby, giving the area a real local vibe. This was my second stay at this hotel, and I’m happy to say everything lived up to expectations—plus, I got upgraded to a larger room! The suite is spacious with excellent layout and well-maintained amenities. The only minor issue was the hot water in the bathtub—it didn’t get quite hot enough for my taste. Breakfast was a highlight: the local Xi’an dishes had authentic flavor, though not overly standout; however, the Western breakfast options were impressive—fresh, varied, and high quality. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—just a short walk from the Bell and Drum Towers, and very convenient access to the Wukou Metro Station. The surrounding area has plenty of dining options and daily necessities. Overall, a fantastic experience with great value for money. I’ll definitely be returning when I come back to Xi’an.

We’ve stayed at Blue Sea Wind before and had an excellent experience, so when we planned a trip to Xi’an with our parents, this was our top choice. We booked two nights in a Club Room on a higher floor—great views of the city skyline, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The Club Lounge served delicious food with a nice variety, especially the afternoon tea spread—well-prepared and thoughtfully presented. Special thanks to Xiao Ma and Bella, who were incredibly helpful from the start. They offered useful travel tips and guidance well before arrival, and their warm, attentive service continued throughout our stay. The hotel is just steps away from the metro station, making it super convenient to explore the city center without hassle. Our parents were particularly impressed by the room comfort and cleanliness—they said it felt like home. Overall, the quality of service, location, and amenities exceeded expectations. This is definitely a hotel we’ll return to, and one we highly recommend to fellow travelers.

I lived here in the 70s and early 80s, and every time I passed by that iconic main building (now part of Sofitel Legend), it brought back so many memories. This recent four-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic. On sunny days, I loved walking around the quiet courtyard—it’s peaceful and full of charm. The staff were incredibly attentive: someone guided me to park, and others helped with luggage without being asked. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with great variety. Just steps away is Xincheng Square—perfect for a morning stroll among the friendly pigeons. In about 15 minutes on foot, you can reach Muslim Quarter (Beiyuanmen) and even walk straight to Bell Tower. There’s also a small museum inside the Sofitel Legend building that shares the rich history of the original Renmin Building, including photos of famous visitors over the years. It’s like staying in a living piece of history. With its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and unique heritage vibe, this hotel offers amazing value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Xi'an.
