While the room size is on the smaller side and the front desk staff seemed a bit reserved upon check-in without offering much guidance, the service truly shines during your stay. For instance, after buying snacks from the convenience store near the entrance around 9:30 PM, the shuttle driver kindly offered to deliver them straight to our room—something we hadn’t known about since it wasn’t mentioned at reception. That small gesture made a big difference. And don’t miss the hotel’s ground-floor bakery—it’s widely regarded as Seoul’s top French pastry shop. The pastries are rich, delicate, and absolutely worth a visit. Despite minor initial impressions, the attention to detail and thoughtful touches throughout the stay make this hotel stand out. Highly recommend for both comfort and convenience.
Shilla Stay Gangnam Yeoksam
Stayed at the Shilla Stay Gangnam Yeoksam and had an excellent experience overall. The hotel was incredibly accommodating—especially being able to secure an early check-in for our early morning flight, which made our travel day much smoother. There’s a 7-Eleven right on the ground floor, so grabbing snacks or essentials was super convenient. Public transportation is very accessible too—the bus stop is literally outside the door, making it easy to get around. The metro station is a short walk away, which isn’t a big issue. The room was spotless, with a lovely view of Lotte Tower. Bedding was fresh and comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job maintaining cleanliness throughout our stay. Highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel is excellent overall—great location, super convenient for getting around Seoul, and the staff are very friendly. My only confusion was that I booked a two-night stay, but I had to check out on the second day and couldn’t recheck in until after 6 PM. That timing restriction felt a bit odd and wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Still, the team handled it well, and even though I had to move my luggage, it didn’t ruin the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the value for money was strong. Definitely would stay here again.

Be aware that there’s no elevator—so if you’re not up for climbing stairs, request a lower-floor room. Noise levels are decent; even though soundproofing isn’t perfect, there’s minimal disturbance at night. One of my favorite moments? Sipping coffee on the 5th floor during a snowfall, listening to music, chatting with friends, and watching the city turn white—it felt like a scene from a movie. The front desk staff speaks excellent English, but service hours are limited to 8 AM–10 PM. For other times, you’ll need to use alternative communication methods. Overall, this place offers great value, friendly vibes, and a unique charm. A solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in central Seoul.
