Hotel the Designers LYJ Gangnam Premier
This was my second stay at this hotel, and I’m even more impressed this time around. The location is unbeatable—right next to the subway station, making it super easy to explore Gangnam District. Walking just a few minutes gets you to cozy cafés, fresh bakeries, authentic Korean restaurants, and shopping spots. Everything you’d want for a comfortable, convenient trip is within reach. The room was clean, stylish, and quiet, offering great value for the price. If you're visiting Seoul, especially if you’re into modern design and urban convenience, this is definitely a top choice.
Hotel The Designers DDP
The hotel is spotless and has a very clean, modern vibe that makes you feel instantly at home. Location-wise, it’s super convenient if you’re taking Line 5—exit 6 is the closest, but exit 5 works just as well and is only a short walk away. One nice bonus: there’s a nail salon right on the ground floor with a 30% discount for guests. The nail technician was incredibly attentive and even allowed me to message ahead to discuss my preferred design. The results were flawless—professional, detailed, and absolutely beautiful. A great little touch that made our stay even more enjoyable.

Staying at Hotel the Designers Dongdaemun was an absolute highlight of my trip to Seoul! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, with countless restaurants and shops just a short walk away. I could easily reach major attractions like Myeongdong and Dongdaemun Market without needing any transit. Despite being central, the area feels surprisingly quiet and peaceful, making it easy to unwind after a busy day. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities—air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi all worked perfectly. The bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The only minor downside was the window’s soundproofing; on rare occasions, I could hear some street noise, but it didn’t really disturb me. What truly stood out was the staff—friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful. They made check-in smooth and even gave great local tips that enhanced my experience. Overall, the price felt very fair considering the prime location, quality of service, and comfort. If I ever return to Seoul, this hotel will definitely be my first choice.

The hotel is excellent overall—great location, super convenient for getting around Seoul, and the staff are very friendly. My only confusion was that I booked a two-night stay, but I had to check out on the second day and couldn’t recheck in until after 6 PM. That timing restriction felt a bit odd and wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Still, the team handled it well, and even though I had to move my luggage, it didn’t ruin the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the value for money was strong. Definitely would stay here again.

The first room had a strong smell of smoke, which was quite unpleasant, so I asked to be moved. The staff were very kind and promptly arranged a new room without any hassle. However, the second room wasn’t much better—the bathroom felt a bit dark and slightly unsettling, and the overall facilities were just average. That said, the price is definitely affordable, making it a solid choice if you're on a budget. It’s perfect for students or travelers looking for a no-frills stay with good value. While not luxurious, it gets the job done, especially considering the cost.

I was particularly happy to find both a bathtub and a shower in the bathroom—a thoughtful touch that added to the overall luxury. Housekeeping came by daily, and everything was spotless and meticulously maintained. It’s clear the team takes pride in cleanliness and guest comfort. Overall, this was a truly pleasant experience from start to finish. I’d definitely choose this hotel again—excellent value, great service, and a memorable stay.

While the location isn’t in the heart of the bustling city center and there aren’t many shops or attractions right outside, that’s actually one of its charms: it offers a peaceful, quiet retreat amidst the urban energy of Seoul. Getting to major sights requires a short ride by taxi or subway, but the hotel’s convenient access to public transport makes it easy. For travelers seeking comfort, privacy, and a refined atmosphere, this is a truly rewarding choice. The value for money is excellent, especially if you're looking for a serene escape without sacrificing luxury.
OYO hostel Dongdaemun 1
Staying at OYO Hostel Dongdaemun 1 was a delightful experience. The atmosphere throughout the hostel is warm and welcoming, especially on the 5th floor where breakfast is served with soft background music. The heating system works well during winter, keeping the rooms cozy and comfortable. While there are no disposable toiletries (like toothbrushes), they do provide towels, which is thoughtful. Be aware that there’s no elevator—so if you’re not up for climbing stairs, request a lower-floor room. Noise levels are decent; even though soundproofing isn’t perfect, there’s minimal disturbance at night. One of my favorite moments? Sipping coffee on the 5th floor during a snowfall, listening to music, chatting with friends, and watching the city turn white—it felt like a scene from a movie. The front desk staff speaks excellent English, but service hours are limited to 8 AM–10 PM. For other times, you’ll need to use alternative communication methods. Overall, this place offers great value, friendly vibes, and a unique charm. A solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in central Seoul.

Location-wise, it’s perfect—right next to convenience stores and a variety of restaurants, so we never had to go far for food or essentials. We traveled as a family of three with two beds, comfortably accommodating four people without feeling cramped. Even during the colder months, the heating worked flawlessly, and hot water was always available—no cold showers here! The attention to detail and overall comfort made this a standout experience. Highly recommend for travelers looking for a cozy, well-located, and thoughtfully designed stay.

The facilities and location were excellent—very convenient for getting around Seoul. The only minor downside was being asked to check out by 11:00 AM, even though the checkout time listed was 12:00 PM. It felt a bit rushed, especially if you had a late morning plan. Still, the overall experience was fantastic, with great value for money. I’d definitely stay here again.
