Staying at Quest Newmarket Serviced Apartments has been a consistently great experience. It feels like home away from home, especially since I didn’t have to bring much extra. The location is fantastic—just a short walk or quick subway ride into downtown Auckland, and there are so many restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby. I never had to go far for food or daily needs. The unit itself is spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and quiet, making it perfect for relaxing after a long day. Clean, convenient, and affordable—this place delivers on every front. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family, and I’ll be back again soon.

We absolutely fell in love with the charm and location of this charming guest house! The historic building has such character, and being just a short walk from the city center makes it incredibly convenient. If you're after a view, rooms #5 and #9 are definitely worth requesting—those city vistas are unforgettable. The property is well-maintained and full of old-world elegance. While staff presence is minimal, it didn’t detract from our stay at all—we found it easy to navigate on our own and appreciated the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. It’s the perfect choice for travelers who value comfort, authenticity, and a bit of quiet retreat in the heart of Auckland.

Staying at Parklane Motor Lodge was a fantastic experience. The hotel is incredibly quiet, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway. The only minor drawback is the lack of an elevator, but since the building is low-rise, walking up the stairs isn’t an issue. What really stands out is the convenient location—there are several supermarkets nearby, so grabbing groceries or snacks is super easy. Plus, it’s just a 15-minute walk to One Tree Hill Park, ideal for a morning stroll or an evening hike with great views of Auckland. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, this place offers excellent value for money and a relaxing atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Auckland who wants a quiet, hassle-free stay.

We booked a superior suite with a king bed through the platform, but after checking in, my son mentioned he’d prefer two separate beds. I accidentally left my wallet behind in the room after checking out on March 10, containing Australian cash and a bank card. When I returned to the hotel the next day, it was still safely there waiting for me. A special thanks goes to a young male staff member who worked on Sunday—he patiently listened to my story, took me back to the room, and helped locate the wallet right away. His kindness and professionalism truly stood out. It’s rare to encounter such genuine care from hotel staff, especially when no one was expecting anything in return. This experience made my stay memorable not just because of the comfortable rooms or convenient location, but because of the people who made me feel valued. The entire team deserves recognition—this level of service is exactly what makes a great hotel. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending Ellerslie Palms Motel to friends and family.

YMCA Hostel
One of my top hostel picks in Auckland! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel more like home. Right outside the door is a bus stop—super convenient for getting around the city without needing to walk far. The dorm rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and each comes with a locker, fridge, air conditioning, and windows that open for fresh airflow. I also stayed in a private room, and it was just as impressive—clean, well-equipped with a fridge, AC, and a dedicated desk and chair, perfect for working or relaxing. Great value, great vibe, and an excellent choice for travelers who want comfort, convenience, and a friendly atmosphere.
Shooters Saloon Bar Hotel & Cabins
This place was a complete disappointment. The overall condition was poor—dirty, poorly maintained, and honestly made me feel uneasy. There's a small side room with a bed tucked away in the corner of the common area, which is super confusing and makes you wonder what goes on there. It’s not just odd—it’s unsettling. The staff were unhelpful, and promises made during booking didn’t match reality. I felt misled from the start. While it’s conveniently located near public transit to downtown Auckland, I wouldn’t recommend staying here—especially for safety or comfort reasons. Not worth the price, and definitely not something I’d ever consider again.
Kiwi International Hotel

Being in the city center, having free parking is a huge plus—just let the front desk know when you arrive, and they’ll open the gate for you. The breakfast buffet is generous and delicious, offering a great start to the day. Plus, the location is unbeatable—walking distance to shops, restaurants, and attractions. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a little bit of local charm in central Auckland.
