Galt Villas Hotel
I’ll admit I was nervous booking this hotel—came through a platform, and honestly didn’t know what to expect. But for a family trip over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, we stayed three nights in three king rooms, and overall, it was a solid experience. The property is an older motel, but our rooms had clearly been renovated—only the tub remained that retro pink, while everything else felt modern and clean. The room amenities were thoughtful: microwaves and mini-fridges made meal prep easy, which was perfect for traveling with kids. Location-wise, it’s incredibly convenient—walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and just 10–15 minutes to the beach access. Plus, there are four pools to enjoy, so no waiting around. Beds were super comfy—great for a good night’s sleep after long days. We didn’t dine at the on-site restaurant or tiki bar, but that wasn’t a dealbreaker. One thing worth mentioning: the front desk staff could use a bit more warmth and patience. While not outright rude, her tone came across as dismissive, especially when I explained my delayed checkout due to a flight cancellation. I understand she’s doing her job, but a little more empathy would’ve gone a long way. That said, this isn’t a luxury resort—it’s affordable, clean, and comfortable, exactly what we needed for a relaxed family getaway. Despite the minor service hiccup, I’d definitely book here again. Oh, and I called three times before check-out just to remind them about the need for a clean room for my one-year-old grandson—thankfully, they followed up, and that part worked out well.
