The moment I stepped in, I could tell this was something special—excellent service, top-notch dining, and an atmosphere that truly feels luxurious. The property is vast, with beautifully maintained lawns and trees. Since we visited right at peak season for maple and ginkgo foliage, the grounds were gently dusted with golden leaves, creating a magical, almost cinematic setting. Paths are clean and well-kept, making it easy to wander around for hours just taking photos and soaking in the scenery. We booked the daily 10 AM 'Wangzhuang Cruise' tour, which circles West Lake in about an hour. The boat itself is spotless, with comfortable upholstered seats, air-conditioned enclosed cabins, and panoramic glass windows that offer stunning views of both sides of the lake. I especially loved standing at the back deck to capture sweeping shots of the water and gardens—absolutely breathtaking. The highlight of the stay was the complimentary photography package. While one of the staff members from Hainan came across as rather abrupt and inflexible, the photographer, Mr. Song, and the makeup artist were incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Their work brought out the best in our photos, and the final results were truly memorable. Overall, despite a minor hiccup, the experience exceeded expectations—this place deserves every bit of its reputation.

When I mentioned I’d be traveling with a child, she proactively arranged kid-friendly amenities, and the room came equipped with a mini-bar—thoughtful touches that really stood out. As a long-standing five-star property, the service level is consistently excellent. The location is unbeatable—right next to Wulin Night Market, and just a 10-minute walk to West Lake. On days when traffic restrictions made taxis hard to find, walking became the easiest option. Breakfast was generous in both variety and quality. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations. Staying at The Nook Hotel Hangzhou felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat with a minimalist, Muji-inspired vibe. The upgraded room was absolutely dreamy—my favorite part was soaking in the bathtub while gazing out at the serene mountain view through the floor-to-ceiling glass. Natural light floods in, and the open-air balcony with lush greenery outside made every moment feel calming and refreshing. Getting there was easy—just a short walk from the metro station, following clear signs up a few steps and along a tree-lined path flanked by towering gingko and sycamore trees. You’ll spot the hotel right at the corner of a quiet street. It’s just one stop from Tianmu Li, which is perfect for a full day of exploring: art exhibitions, shopping, great cafes, and Instagram-worthy architecture and nature shots. A few stops further, you can visit Zhejiang University, wetlands, or botanical gardens—all within easy reach. And if you want to head into downtown, it’s only six stops away. Super convenient! The staff were warm and attentive, and the breakfast spread was generous and delicious. Definitely worth waking up early for!
