Staying at Nanjing Grand Hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. This trip was for a friend’s birthday, and we took the chance to explore the stunning maple leaves at Qixia Mountain, golden ginkgo trees by Xuanwu Lake, Yanyue Lake, Stone Elephant Road, and the famous plane tree avenue. Perfect timing, perfect weather, and perfect vibes! The room arranged by Manager Dong was exceptional—comfortable, elegant, and thoughtfully prepared. Dining at Jiangnan Zao was a highlight: the ingredients were fresh and top-notch. The pickled turnip with preserved vegetables was surprisingly delicious, the fish head incredibly fresh, and the sweet-and-sour ribs? Absolutely unforgettable. My friend devoured the stir-fried beef in no time—proof it was a hit! Bonus: guests staying at the hotel can enjoy complimentary room service from Jiangnan Zao—even if you’re not on the waitlist. Plus, the Christmas decorations were beautifully done, adding a magical touch to the entire stay. Honestly, I’m already planning my next visit—Shangri-La truly wins my heart every time.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with fresh welcome fruits and the signature afternoon tea, both of which were delightful. Even better, the hotel included complimentary tickets to the nearby Six Dynasties Museum—a thoughtful touch that made exploring the city even more enjoyable. The location is excellent—central, walkable to major attractions, and just a short metro ride from everything. My stay was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. A special thank you to Cloris Li at check-out: her warm, friendly service stood out, and she even gifted us a cute Nanjing-themed maple leaf souvenir. It’s such a sweet little memory from our trip. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of dishes, perfect for families or travelers with kids. Staying at Suning Universal Hotel All Suites was an absolute delight! The two-bedroom layout is perfect for families or groups of friends—spacious living area makes it feel like home, and the roomy design gives everyone plenty of space to relax. Located right across from Wutai Mountain Metro Station, getting around Nanjing is incredibly convenient. I didn’t need to take a taxi or worry about parking—just walk straight into the subway and explore the city with ease. Special shoutout to front desk staff Xiao Shen—so friendly, helpful, and attentive. She even upgraded our room without hesitation, which made the experience even better. A small suggestion: the TV screen could be slightly larger to match the spacious living area. Also, replacing the bathroom and shower door with frosted glass would improve privacy, especially when someone’s using the sink. And if possible, converting the kitchenette into a compact powder room would make things much more practical for four guests sharing the space—especially useful when traveling with kids. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value, comfort, and location. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Nanjing.

Right downstairs is deji shopping mall, so you can stroll from room to store without stepping outside into the cold. Even on freezing days, I just wore my own slippers, a T-shirt, and a light shawl—perfect for a relaxed shopping spree. Everything I wanted was available, no need to wander far. The only minor downside? A few front desk staff weren’t as attentive when checking in, but everyone else—from housekeeping to concierge—was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The housekeeping team, in particular, were so cheerful and proactive, adding a bright energy to the whole visit. It was such a joyful two days, and I’d absolutely return without hesitation.

Staying at Central Hotel in Nanjing was an absolutely delightful experience. The only minor drawback was the door lock—it felt outdated and didn’t match the hotel’s overall quality. A quick upgrade would make this already fantastic stay perfect. With its central location, easy access to public transit, and exceptional hospitality, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nanjing.

Jinfan Wanyuan Hotel

As someone who’s very particular about accommodations, this Jinfan Wanyuan Hotel in Xinjiekou absolutely hit the mark for me. First off, cleanliness is top-notch—every corner of the room was spotless, with crisp white linens and even the remote control wiped down with disinfectant wipes. It gave me real peace of mind. The soundproofing is impressive too; once I closed the windows, I couldn’t hear any street noise at all—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. But what really blew me away was the breakfast spread: an excellent mix of Chinese staples like congee, noodles, and rice dishes, plus Western options such as fresh bread and coffee. They even served handmade wonton soup and freshly cooked noodles—taste was on par with some of my favorite local breakfast spots. Staff were warm and welcoming—front desk agent Xiao Lu always greeted me by name, and housekeeping staff were friendly and responsive whenever needed. This place has earned a permanent spot on my list. I’ve already recommended it to several friends, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
