I was stunned—how did she know I was here? She explained she noticed my headlights were on and assumed someone was inside. As she guided me through the rain, she kept tilting the umbrella toward me, shielding me completely. By the time we reached the lobby, her back was soaked. That moment of quiet dedication brought tears to my eyes. Moments after checking in, a staff member knocked on my door with a thoughtful meal—no joke, I hadn’t even mentioned being hungry!
