The front desk staff and housekeeping team were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. As a long-standing five-star property, the facilities are top-notch and well-maintained. Location-wise, it’s absolutely perfect—just steps from the old town, with easy access to the ancient city wall and the bustling Muslim Quarter. Walking to local street food spots is a breeze, and the metro station right outside means commuting to work is fast and hassle-free without needing a taxi. I especially loved the ground-floor coffee—it’s way better than any takeaway I’ve had lately. There’s also a great selection of authentic local eats nearby, giving the area a real local vibe. Staying at Grand Mercure Xian Renmin Square was such a memorable experience—this place holds deep sentimental value for many locals in Xi'an. I lived here in the 70s and early 80s, and every time I passed by that iconic main building (now part of Sofitel Legend), it brought back so many memories. This recent four-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic. On sunny days, I loved walking around the quiet courtyard—it’s peaceful and full of charm. The staff were incredibly attentive: someone guided me to park, and others helped with luggage without being asked. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with great variety. Just steps away is Xincheng Square—perfect for a morning stroll among the friendly pigeons. In about 15 minutes on foot, you can reach Muslim Quarter (Beiyuanmen) and even walk straight to Bell Tower. There’s also a small museum inside the Sofitel Legend building that shares the rich history of the original Renmin Building, including photos of famous visitors over the years. It’s like staying in a living piece of history. With its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and unique heritage vibe, this hotel offers amazing value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Xi'an.

I've stayed here multiple times whenever I visit Xi'an, and it never disappoints. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, while the overall atmosphere of the hotel was clean and inviting. The overall experience was excellent! We arrived earlier than check-in time, but the front desk staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage while we waited. Since my child needed a nap, we relaxed in the lobby for a bit—once we saw someone else check in, we jumped on the chance to get settled. This is a well-established five-star property, yet it offers incredible value for money. The room was spacious and had a bathtub, which was a big plus. Elevator access requires a key card, so privacy and security are top-notch. While the room isn’t brand new, all essential amenities were present and in good working order—no complaints there. It’s just a 10-15 minute walk to the Bell Tower, placing us right in the heart of the city’s main tourist area. The Dachashi Metro Station is only a few minutes away on foot, and there’s also a bus stop right outside—though the bus frequency could be better. Still, the location is unbeatable for exploring the Muslim Quarter and surrounding attractions. Great convenience, great vibe, and fantastic value. Definitely recommend for travelers looking for comfort and accessibility in central Xi’an.

The hotel itself is spotless, staff are friendly and helpful, and the complimentary mineral water is a nice touch—grab as much as you like! Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and tasty options to fuel a full day of exploring. What really blew me away was the added service: travel planning assistance and Hanfu rental. I didn’t have to worry about anything—just show up in traditional attire and take amazing photos. It’s such a convenient, stress-free experience. For the price, this place offers incredible value. Though it's an older property, the management is spot-on—everything runs smoothly and professionally. The staff, especially front desk agent Xiao Li, always greets us like family—warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She never fails to recommend local favorites, like the authentic sour pork noodles, spicy tangy soup noodles, and the famous three-color cold skin noodles—every meal has been a delight. Located right next to Shajinqiao Metro Station, getting around the city is incredibly convenient, and the free parking is a real bonus for those driving. The hotel’s Chinese restaurant serves up delicious, authentic dishes that make every meal feel special. Clean rooms, friendly service, unbeatable location, and outstanding value—this place truly delivers on all fronts. A must-stay for anyone visiting Xi'an.

The value for money is excellent, which makes it a strong choice for travelers on a budget or looking for a central base. That said, there are a few small improvements that could enhance the stay: the bathroom drain design isn’t ideal—it tends to clog easily and lacks a cover, so water often spills out during showers, creating a bit of a mess. Also, the tea provided in the room was quite basic; upgrading the selection would add a nice touch. Lastly, the mattress is on the softer side, which might not suit guests who prefer firmer bedding.
