I booked this stay through a huge promotion on Ctrip—what an incredible value for a five-star hotel! I have to give a real shoutout to Ctrip for making such great deals possible. The price-to-quality ratio was outstanding, and it felt like getting luxury without the luxury price tag. While downtown Auckland can be a bit chaotic, the hotel itself offered a strong sense of safety and comfort that really made a difference. From check-in, a staff member immediately helped carry my luggage to the room—so thoughtful! The front desk team was incredibly warm and helpful; when I had a late flight, they kindly allowed me to check out two hours later, even offering advice to use the on-site gym to freshen up before leaving. Cleanliness was excellent overall—especially the fitness center, which was spotless and professionally cleaned every evening around 10 PM. The only downside? On my last day, I found a large cockroach in the tea cabinet. As someone who’s extremely sensitive to bugs, this was genuinely alarming. Definitely recommend improving pest control measures. Despite that minor issue, I’d absolutely choose SO/Auckland again on my next trip to Auckland—this place truly stands out.

I also appreciated the luggage delivery service, which made checking in much easier with heavy bags. Honestly, this hotel offers such a premium experience at a surprisingly fair price. Just a quick note: it’s popular, so booking early is essential to secure your preferred room. Highly recommend this stay—it truly lives up to the hype.

The Grand by SkyCity

Staying at The Grand by SkyCity for the second time was just as great as the first! The hotel is only a 3-minute walk from the airport shuttle stop, making travel to and from the airport incredibly convenient—whether you're arriving or departing. While I opted for the platform's airport transfer service on my return trip, the location still makes everything so much easier. One of the highlights? The trendy little restaurant Tetop right downstairs—absolutely delicious, consistently good, and perfect for a quick bite without having to leave the building. The room was spotless, with excellent cleanliness throughout, fresh linens, and a comfortable bed that made for a restful night. Everything about this stay felt seamless: location, food, hygiene, and service. I’d definitely book here again next time I’m in Auckland—and I’ll be recommending it to friends.

Staying here for six nights was a fantastic experience. The room was consistently clean, with daily housekeeping making sure everything was in order. Watching boats glide by and seagulls soar overhead added such a peaceful, authentic touch to the stay. The room layout and decor at Grand Millennium Auckland truly stand out—thoughtful design with plenty of mirrors, perfect for getting ready in the morning. The bathroom tiles are non-slip, which made me feel safe walking around barefoot. I especially appreciated having a fridge—since I love drinking fresh New Zealand milk, I could easily store any leftover without worrying about it spoiling. One small issue: the curtains don’t close tightly, so sunlight streams in as early as 6 AM. That’s around 1 AM Beijing time, when most night owls are just settling into sleep—being woken up by bright light is definitely disruptive. It would be great if the hotel could improve the blackout quality of the curtains. Overall, this place earns a solid 9 out of 10. Great value, excellent comfort, and a really welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend for travelers who appreciate attention to detail.

I've stayed at The Hotel Britomart Auckland a few times for business meetings and always walk away impressed. The eco-friendly ethos is genuinely thoughtfully executed—every detail, from the materials to the in-room amenities, reflects sustainability. The lobby scent is subtle yet inviting, setting a relaxing tone right away. It's perfectly located near top-rated restaurants and just a short stroll to the waterfront area. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive—especially Howard, who speaks fluent Chinese and went above and beyond to assist me with local tips and check-in logistics. The room was cozy and slept like a dream, with a well-stocked mini-bar that had everything I needed. One small downside: no complimentary bottled water in the room. When I asked at reception if they could provide one, they suggested I get it from Kingi’s, but declined because I didn’t have a reusable bottle—a bit disappointing, especially since the hotel promotes green practices. Still, this minor issue doesn’t take away from the overall excellent experience. Great location, superb service, and a refreshing urban vibe make this hotel a standout choice in Auckland.
