Comfort Inn Fukuoka Tenjin
Staying at Comfort Inn Fukuoka Tenjin was a great experience, especially for travelers looking for convenience and value. The hotel is located in the heart of Tenjin, just a short walk from shopping streets and countless local restaurants—right across the street from a famous 24-hour soba and oden shop that’s perfect for late-night cravings. The building feels modern and clean, with friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Free luggage storage is available, which is super helpful when arriving early or departing late. While the TV isn’t smart, it didn’t bother me—what mattered more was the window that opens slightly, allowing good ventilation. One standout feature: a large general hospital is literally one minute away, open 24/7. That peace of mind alone makes this hotel a strong choice, especially if you’re traveling with travel insurance (which I highly recommend). The neighborhood feels safe too—police stations and government offices nearby mean you’ll often see patrol cars and security personnel even late at night. Outside the hotel, there’s a spacious park where I’ve visited twice—once in winter, once in summer—and both times there were lively events going on. It’s family-friendly and full of young people and locals, with no sketchy or homeless vibes. Getting to Fukuoka Airport by taxi costs around ¥2,500–2,800—reasonable for the distance. Breakfast is served at the first-floor café, Homeda Coffee, but it’s a grab-and-go setup, so preferences vary—personally, I skipped it both times. The restroom on the ground floor shares access with the café and requires your room key to enter. There’s also a free coffee vending machine in the lobby, though it shuts off late at night. No disposable shower towels are provided, but they do offer essentials like toothbrushes, combs, toothpaste, and razors—just pick them up at the front desk. The shampoo and body wash were surprisingly good, especially the Kao brand. They even include an air freshener. At the entrance, there’s ample space for shoes and coats—enough for 4–5 pairs—and the shelves above are perfect for placing bags or luggage while you’re checking in. Overall, this place offers excellent value, comfort, and location. After two stays—one in winter, one in summer—I can confidently say it’s a top pick for anyone visiting Fukuoka’s Tenjin area.
