Starr Hotel(Shanghai Jing'an Railway Station)

Staying at Starr Hotel Shanghai Jing'an Railway Station in a family room was an absolute delight! The space was spacious and kid-friendly, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What stood out most was the location—just a 10-minute walk to Shanghai Railway Station, making travel super convenient. Whether heading into the city or exploring nearby attractions, getting around was effortless. The breakfast spread was generous, offering plenty of options. If you're craving authentic Shanghai breakfast treats like xiaolongbao or shengjian mantou, you can easily grab them nearby without needing to order breakfast through the hotel. Clean, welcoming, and highly recommended—this is definitely a top choice for families visiting Shanghai.

Park Inn by Radisson Shanghai Downtown

Staying at Park Inn by Radisson Shanghai Downtown was a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of dining options nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, featuring a bathtub, which made for a relaxing soak after a long day. While the furniture looked a bit dated, cleanliness was spotless and everything functioned well. Breakfast was a highlight—great variety with both Western and Chinese options available, and portions were generous. The only minor downside was not receiving any complimentary drinks or fruits upon check-in, but that didn’t take away from the overall satisfaction. For the price, this hotel offers solid value and convenience, and I’d definitely consider it again on future trips to Shanghai.

Shanghai CJ Four Seasons Hotel (Changshou Road Wuning Road Subway Station Branch)

I stayed here on a Monday for a nearby business meeting, and it turned out to be a great choice. The price was surprisingly competitive compared to other similar hotels in the area, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and well-designed, with a smart toilet that made everything feel modern and convenient. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable—perfect for a good night's sleep. The only minor downside was having to go downstairs to pick up food from the pickup locker, but that’s a small hassle. Outside, the neighborhood was lively and full of energy, with plenty of dining options within walking distance. It’s also just a short walk to the Wuning Road subway station, making it easy to get around Shanghai. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m in town for work.

Located on the 7th floor with Longshou Road Metro Station right downstairs, this hotel offers unbeatable convenience for travelers relying on public transit. The room is modest in size but well-organized and functional—just enough space for a comfortable stay. The bathroom is compact but fully equipped and works perfectly for daily use. While the overall experience was fairly standard, it’s hard to complain when you consider the price point. For budget-conscious travelers or those just passing through, this place delivers excellent value for money. A solid choice if you're looking for a no-frills, reliable base near the metro.

The Anandi Hotel and Spa Shanghai

Staying at The Anandi Hotel and Spa Shanghai was an absolute delight—the comfort and attention to detail in the room made it feel like a true retreat. Every holiday season brings a fresh theme, so each visit feels unique and special. This time around, we added a photo shoot experience, and the results were stunning—perfect for memories and sharing online! It was my first Christmas here, and the festive dinner paired with live performances created such a magical atmosphere. The outdoor market added charm, though I didn’t win anything (still had fun!), but I’d love to see a small souvenir or gift included as a token of the stay. Overall, the experience exceeded expectations—luxurious, thoughtful, and unforgettable. Definitely planning to come back.

Shanghai Miller Villa Hotel

Staying at Shanghai Miller Villa Hotel felt like stepping into a fairy tale—rich in history and charm from the moment you walk in. The exterior might not scream 'new and flashy,' but inside, everything has that timeless elegance of old-money quality—the bedding was incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. Even small details like the hairdryer, flooring, and seating had a refined, classic touch. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, and the short castle tour offered surprising insights and fun facts. I did have a slight disappointment with the terrace, but the front desk made up for it by giving me a little magnet as a thoughtful gift. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for more—this place strikes the perfect balance between heritage, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Would absolutely return.

The PuLi Hotel and Spa

My first trip to Shanghai this year was absolutely perfect, thanks to the recommendation from a friend who insisted I stay at The PuLi Hotel and Spa. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place was special. The location is unbeatable—everything from the Bund to Nanjing Road and even Disneyland is just minutes away by subway or taxi. The French restaurant on the second floor is exceptional—elegant, delicious, and worth every penny, especially for a romantic dinner or a memorable celebration. Kevin from the concierge team went above and beyond, suggesting some amazing local Shanghainese eateries that were both authentic and affordable—definitely a highlight of the trip. Belle from the guest relations team gave us a warm, personalized tour of the hotel, sharing fascinating details about its design and amenities. It felt less like checking in and more like being welcomed into a home. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and every detail exuded sophistication. If you're looking for a luxurious yet genuinely welcoming stay in Shanghai, this is it—10/10, would book again in a heartbeat.

Radisson Collection Hotel,Xing Guo Shanghai

I’ve passed by this hotel countless times while commuting, always dreaming of staying here—and finally made it happen. The moment I stepped into the grand lobby with its soaring ceiling and dazzling crystal chandelier, I knew this was going to be special. The property sits on nearly 60,000 square meters of private garden, making it feel like a hidden European estate right in the heart of bustling Shanghai. From the very first greeting, the service was exceptional—Esther from front desk went above and beyond: upgraded our room, offered a two-hour late check-out without hesitation, and even shared her WeChat for easy communication. That kind of personal touch is rare. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—huge variety, beautifully presented. From freshly steamed dim sum and handmade noodles to a wide selection of breads, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and even ice cream, every detail was thoughtfully curated. But what truly stole the show was the garden. Lush green lawns, mature trees casting dappled sunlight, historic buildings nestled among foliage—perfect for quiet strolls or Instagram-worthy shots. Every corner feels like a scene from a film. The pool is clean and refreshingly salty—almost like swimming in the sea! Plus, there are two hot tubs nearby, perfect for unwinding. The changing rooms are spacious, with full amenities including a sauna, steam room, and even a lounge area with TV where you can just lie back and relax. This might be the most comfortable five-star experience I’ve ever had. Security staff were friendly and attentive throughout, adding to that welcoming, home-away-from-home feeling. It was an unforgettable New Year’s getaway—serene, elegant, and utterly luxurious.

You can easily walk to People's Square, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, The Bund, Jing'an Temple, Wukang Road, Song Qingling Residence, Sun Yat-sen’s Former Home, Tianzi Fang, and even the Shanghai Natural History Museum or Cai Yuanpei’s Former Residence—all within a pleasant walking distance. Along the way, you’ll pass charming old shikumen homes, cozy cafes, boutique shops, and historic landmarks, making every stroll feel like a little adventure through Shanghai’s soul. The hotel’s lush garden on the south side is a peaceful retreat—perfect for unwinding in the middle of the bustling city. While some facilities show their age, everything is well-maintained and blends beautifully with Shanghai’s classic charm. Service is exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and clearly influenced by Japanese hospitality standards. Even the hallway has that subtle, calming Japanese aesthetic. Breakfast is a highlight too, offering authentic Japanese touches like natto and miso soup, alongside a wide variety of other options.
