Along the way, you’ll pass charming old shikumen homes, cozy cafes, boutique shops, and historic landmarks, making every stroll feel like a little adventure through Shanghai’s soul. The hotel’s lush garden on the south side is a peaceful retreat—perfect for unwinding in the middle of the bustling city. While some facilities show their age, everything is well-maintained and blends beautifully with Shanghai’s classic charm. Service is exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and clearly influenced by Japanese hospitality standards. Even the hallway has that subtle, calming Japanese aesthetic. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner there—the menu is diverse and delicious, so much so that I could easily eat five meals a day without getting tired of it!
