Shilla Seoul is a top choice, offering panoramic views of the Han River from its upper-floor rooms. Located just steps away from Han River Park, it features an indoor pool, a signature Korean-inspired restaurant, and complimentary access to nearby bike-sharing stations. The hotel’s modern design blends traditional Korean aesthetics with luxury amenities.

Another excellent option is Ramada Plaza Seoul, situated near Mangwon Bridge and Mangwon Greenway. This hotel provides easy access to riverside walking paths, outdoor cafes, and seasonal events like the Han River Fireworks Festival. Its spacious rooms include smart technology and large windows framing the river scenery.

Both properties offer convenient transit links to downtown Seoul via subway, making them ideal for travelers seeking a mix of urban convenience and natural beauty. HopeGoo ahead during summer festivals is highly recommended to secure the best view rooms.

One must-try experience is riding along the Han River Bike Path, stretching over 100 km from Yoido Island to Sangam. Rent a bike at any of the many stations and glide past lush parks, riverside cafés, and scenic bridges. The path is well-maintained and perfect for families or solo adventurers.

During summer, don’t miss the Han River Fireworks Festival held annually at Mapo Bridge in July and August. Thousands gather along the banks to witness dazzling fireworks reflected on the water—best viewed from Seoul Forest or Yeouido Park.

Evenings also bring vibrant street food markets near Namyeong-dong and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, where you can savor grilled pork skewers, spicy tteokbokki, and fresh fruit smoothies. For a more relaxed vibe, try riverfront camping at designated areas, complete with fire pits and starlit skies.

Central Seoul offers seamless access to the Han River via multiple metro lines. Take Line 2 to Yoido Station, where exits directly connect to Yoido Park—a short 5-minute walk to the riverside trail. For destinations like Mapo Bridge or Sangam, transfer to Line 6 and exit at Sangam Station, then walk 10 minutes to the waterfront.

The Seoul Metropolitan Subway and Bus Network also serve key riverfront zones. Use a T-Money Card or KakaoPay for discounted fares and faster boarding. If driving, use the Han River Tunnel or Samseong Bridge, but note that parking is limited on weekends and holidays—public transit is strongly advised.

Many hotels, such as Shilla Seoul, provide complimentary shuttle services from downtown to Han River attractions. The ride takes about 30 minutes and is ideal for travelers avoiding crowded trains. Pair your journey with a Han River park map to plan optimal routes and discover seasonal events.

The Westin Josun Seoul

We stayed at The Westin Josun Seoul on the 18th floor in a spacious 55 sqm family suite with two connecting rooms—perfect for our trip with kids and large 30-inch suitcases. There was plenty of room to unpack everything without any hassle. The bathroom was well-designed with a clean separation between wet and dry areas, and having a bathtub made it so relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. What truly stood out was the thoughtful touches: a warm cup of red date ginseng tea was always waiting on the coffee table when we returned, and our children were greeted with little surprises each evening. The turndown service was impeccable—the slippers, water bottles, and bedside tray were neatly arranged every night. As someone with a strong preference for cleanliness, I appreciate how the staff even provided perfectly pressed, fresh cloths to place under my jewelry and cosmetics—such a small but incredibly meaningful gesture. After decades of staying at luxury hotels, few have matched this level of attention to detail. The executive floor breakfast was simple but refined—fresh ingredients, excellent quality, and delicious flavors. Everyone in our family enjoyed it. Truly unforgettable stay, and highly recommended!

Grand Hyatt Seoul

Staying at Grand Hyatt Seoul was a wonderful experience overall. While the room was on the smaller side, it was exceptionally clean and well-maintained—every detail felt thoughtfully done. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making check-in and daily interactions a breeze. The hotel was busy during my visit, but the atmosphere remained calm and luxurious. I booked a session at the tennis courts, which were spacious and beautifully kept, with professional coaches available for lessons—perfect for both beginners and experienced players. I also enjoyed the afternoon tea spread, which offered a great selection of treats and drinks in a serene setting. Everything about this stay exceeded expectations, and I’d definitely return without hesitation.

Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul

I visited Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul purely for a solo staycation, and it absolutely delivered. In the middle of bustling Seoul, this place feels like a hidden oasis—calm, serene, and completely removed from the city’s chaos. The moment I stepped into my room, I was greeted with that peaceful, natural vibe that made me instantly unwind. One of my favorite moments? Sitting by the bathroom window, staring at the endless traffic jam outside, while enjoying my own quiet time—such a simple but powerful form of therapy. The indoor pool is massive and incredibly relaxing, especially when you can see the Namsan Tower in the distance. It really helped release all the tension I’d been carrying. The room itself is elegant without being overbearing—clean, well-maintained, and spotless. The sofa and bed were both comfortable, and the mattress was so plush, I felt like I was being hugged the second I lay down. The bedding was soft and cozy, leading to one of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had in a long time. The bathroom? Impeccable—crisp, clean, and luxurious. Breakfast came around 9:30 AM, so there was a short wait, but I actually preferred it this way—no noisy buffet crowds, no distractions, just a peaceful start to the day. I ordered natto with abalone, followed by sea urchin egg custard and fresh fruit—simple yet delicious, perfect for a light morning meal. I didn’t get to enjoy the famous pool this time (a bit disappointing), but I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat within the heart of Seoul, Banyan Tree is truly the answer.

Staying at the Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Seoul Gangnam was an exceptional experience. The service and amenities were top-notch—everything from the elegant rooms to the attentive staff exceeded expectations. While the location isn’t in the heart of the bustling city center and there aren’t many shops or attractions right outside, that’s actually one of its charms: it offers a peaceful, quiet retreat amidst the urban energy of Seoul. Ddp Stn Avenue

The hotel is excellent overall—great location, super convenient for getting around Seoul, and the staff are very friendly. My only confusion was that I booked a two-night stay, but I had to check out on the second day and couldn’t recheck in until after 6 PM. That timing restriction felt a bit odd and wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Still, the team handled it well, and even though I had to move my luggage, it didn’t ruin the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the value for money was strong. Definitely would stay here again.

Nouvelle Seoul Hotel Itaewon by Aank

Staying at Nouvelle Seoul Hotel Itaewon was a fantastic experience. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Seoul's vibrant nightlife, yet the rooms are well-insulated, making it easy to relax and sleep soundly despite the lively surroundings. The rooms themselves are spacious with large TVs that make for great entertainment. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and spoke fluent English, which made check-in and any inquiries super smooth. I appreciated the 24-hour check-in option—very convenient for late arrivals. Plus, everything you need is within walking distance: restaurants, cafes, shopping, and the metro station. This place truly offers the best of both worlds—urban energy and peaceful comfort. Highly recommend for travelers who want convenience without compromise.

Hertz Hotel

The location of Hertz Hotel in Jongno was absolutely perfect! I arrived earlier than check-in time, but they kindly offered free luggage storage—so convenient. There were tons of restaurants, small shops, and cozy cafes nearby, making it easy to pass the time without any stress. The room itself was spotlessly clean, and having a bathtub was definitely one of the main reasons I chose this hotel—it made for a relaxing soak after a long day. Bathroom amenities included shampoo, conditioner, and a bathrobe, though I did need to bring my own toothbrush. For multi-night stays, water bottles were conveniently restocked. One standout feature was the sliding mirror that doubles as a blackout panel—just slide it across the window, and you’ve got complete darkness, ideal for sleeping in late. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a straightening iron available in the room—such a thoughtful touch. I’d definitely stay here again. Excellent value and a truly comfortable experience.

Glocaloca

We stayed here as a family of three adults, including first-time visitors to Korea, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. What stood out most was the in-room laundry facilities—detergents were freely available, and I brought my own small packet of fabric softener from Japan, which worked perfectly. A large tote bag is highly recommended for moving laundry between rooms. The bathroom amenities were exceptional: the shampoo and conditioner had a luxurious scent and texture, leaving a subtle, pleasant fragrance throughout the room after showering. It’s rare to find a full set of toothbrushes included in a Korean hotel, and the lightweight hairdryer delivered strong airflow without strain. In the dining area, they offer four levels of spicy ramen—while I haven’t tried level 3, level 2 was similar to a moderately spicy kimchi ramen, not too overwhelming. Everything you’d expect at home, like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and containers, was readily available. Even our homemade kimchi from a local market didn’t come with packaging—we were able to wrap it up neatly with the provided wrap and take it back easily. The staff were incredibly friendly, with several speaking Japanese, which made us feel safe and welcome. We especially enjoyed meeting Star-chan, who’s originally from Iran—such a memorable encounter! Thanks again, see you soon! One minor downside: the coffee machine was a bit sweet, and there was no option to adjust sugar levels—so every latte came out overly sugary. The chocolate drink also wasn’t to my taste. Also, the power outlets were tricky—my C-type adapter (bought from a 100-yen store) would plug in but kept falling out, making it unusable. Even though another universal adapter worked, it wobbled and sometimes fell over, causing power loss. And unfortunately, the silk-pressed straightening iron showed an error message and wouldn’t turn on. But overall? This place felt more like home than a hotel. Late-night ramen or toast lovers were cooking quietly nearby, yet we heard absolutely nothing—perfectly peaceful. It totally redefined what a hotel stay could be. We’re already planning to return next time we visit Korea!
